“Where’s your date?” “He’s not available tonight. Yours?” “Can’t have her.”
“I just want to be yours.” “I’ve been waiting to have you again for years.” I brush my lips over hers. “You only had to ask.”
Roman Hammerstein is my Roman Empire. Helena can do no wrong. Once again she has delivered a story that makes me laugh, cry, swoon, and keeps me on my toes. If you love me was so sweet, written with so much care for some of the sensitive topics, and hot as heck!
Daddy Roman is in his final season as the goalie for the Toronto Terror. Incoming for his last season is a new assistant coach Lexi, who is a woman he met three years prior and had a weekend he’s never forgotten.
Alexandra Forrester has worked tirelessly to earn her place coaching including giving up the potential with a man she met in the past who she connected with like no other but walked away from to avoid the possibility of not earning her career on her own merit.
When these two see each other again, neither has forgotten that weekend or how they felt for one another. They try to keep things professional but with the chemistry they share it’s impossible. So how do they navigate her first season as the first female assistant coach and his final season as a player without blurring lines that could leave defining marks on both of their legacies? Mixed in with that dilemma is grief healing, terror team member shenanigans, the greatest girl gang there is, and even some Tilton university crossover!
“Even now, he could give me a look, or utter the simplest phrase, and turn me into his unapologetically willing c*** slut.”

If You Love Me by Helena Hunting is the perfect blend of sweet & spicy hockey workplace romance between the veteran goalie & the team’s new assistant coach. I have been waiting for Roman’s story since learning about him at the beginning. It was a true delight & felt like drinking a warm cup of hot cocoa on a cold day from how heartwarming this was.
This is book #4 in the Toronto Terror series & it could he read as a standalone. However, I’ve read the entire series & loved them all, so I do recommend the series.
If You Love Me is great for those looking to read…
🥅 Spicy Hockey Romance
🥅 Workplace Romance
🥅 Single Dad x Single Guardian of Sisters
🥅 Second Chance
🥅 Hockey Goalie x Assistant Coach
🥅 Forbidden Boss x Employee
This story had so much heart & left me filled to the brim with the best kind of feels. I am obsessed with the single dad romance & then when you combine that with the heroine being guardian to her sisters, there were just so many beautiful family moments that had me feeling like goo. They were such an excellent pair & it was a joy watching their story.
One of my absolutely favorite things about this series is the team & the friend group that is truly like a family. The ways in which they support & stand up for each other is just wonderful & combine that with humor from epic group chats, they are just the perfect mix.
There are still so many players & friends I am so curious & hopeful to see them fall in love. I cannot wait to see what this author writes next!
I also listened to the audiobook of this & the narrators did such a phenomenal job. They brought these characters to life & were a joy to listen to.
Massive thanks to the author & Good Girls PR for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

I've been excited for this one ever since it was set up at the end of the last one, and then the author did an amazing job promoting it in the weeks before its release by giving us a prequel story about how the MCs in this one met originally, three years ago. She released if bit by bit for newsletter subscribers and then finally as a whole at the end and I appreciated going into this book knowing their background (you'll be fine if you don't read it first, though).
This was a really lovely story. It had a bit of a different vibe to some of the previous ones in the series because the characters are both further along in some areas of life. Lexi is the new assistant coach to the Toronto Terror, where Roman is in his final year as goalie before retirement. He's shocked when she comes on as a coach, since she's the one that got away after a weekend together in New York 3 years earlier, and now they can't be together because of anti-fraternization rules. They try their best to stay away but if course fail and keep ending up together secretly. But she's the first female coach in the league and they don't want to ruin her career, plus she's one year into being legal guardian for her two younger half sisters after their mother died. She's got a lot to handle, and she's great at doing it brilliantly, but there are just times where she wants and needs help and Roman is always there for her.
I thought the forbidden workplace romance aspect was recently done. It's not always my favorite trope because power imbalances can be an issue, and it might be controversial to say, but it feels different when the woman is in the place of power and has all the other societal pressures as it is, plus she isn't his boss and (for the most part) he really cares about her future and success, so it didn't bug me.
Lexi's relationship with her sisters was both wonderful and heartbreaking, but one of her sisters is a character that was briefly introduced in Chase Lovett Wants me, and I'm sure we'll see more of her in that series as it goes on and she attends university. Lexi herself is an excellent mix of "eff off, I've got this myself" and "but also can you hold me for a lil cuddle?" Roman's situation was flipped now as he's the one hiding things from his daughter and friends and dating a woman ten years younger than him, like they did to him in book 2. He's the same mix of grumpy, smooth, and thoughtful Team Dad that we got to know in previous books. I'm definitely looking forward to the two other books being released this year about people from this universe (one standalone and the next in this series) because they feature two couples I've been guessing would end up together for a bit now. Overall, this was another enjoyable installment in this series, with the sometimes off the wall humor I expect from this author, mixed with the great found family vibes.

Oh. My. Gosh.
Perfection.
As I sit here processing Daddy Roman I have to say that Helena Hunting just keeps getting better and better for me in this series. I will never not read and reread and recommend Toronto Terror book for those interested in spicy hockey romances.
Second chance is also one of my favorite tropes and this one did not disappoint!
I love that Roman is now in a position to find love for himself after a demanding career as a goalie for the Toronto Terror and raising his daughter to adulthood.
I loved that Lexi was able to allow Roman to help her with her vulnerable moments and be amazing at raising her sisters while also being an independent woman professional hockey coach.
Y'all, this one had it all....the swooning, the melting, the pining, the love.
5 stars from me allll day.

3.5 ❤️🔥
Ok, I thought Dallas was the sweetest hockey hero Helena had written in a while. Oh, he's still number one (in my book), but let's be honest here: Roman Hammerstein?! The ultimate protector, zaddy, and cuddly bear man who is a BOSS in the bedroom. His story with Lexi is FILLED WITH LONGING. You can feel it coming off the pages. You were counting down the days with them. We end up with a sweet story of two people building a family, love brick by brick. I fall in love with the Terrors hockey world more and more with each book. I love the cameos by beloved characters from previous series, but this world has its personality and charm. I don't care if it's the college spin-off series that includes young adult family members of the Terrors or the Terrors themselves. This is an A+ series that cements why Helena Hunting is still the OG BOSS of hockey romance.

If You Love Me is a forbidden hockey romance and I absolutely fell in love Lexi and Roman!! Lexi is the new assistant coach for the Toronto Terror and the goalie, Roman happens to be her two night stand from a few years ago. I love a good forbidden slow burn romance and these two all the tension, the longing and so much chemistry. One of my favorites parts of the series is the supportive friendships and I loved the way everyone did not hesitate to help Lexi and her sisters when they needed it. This series keeps getting better with each book.
Stella Bloom and Stephen Dexter narrate this book in dual style narration. Stella does a great at portraying Lexi’s struggles with parenting her sisters and starting a new job. Stephen is great at showcasing Roman’s caring, supportive and protective personality. This duo did amazing at bringing these characters to life, I loved both of their performances. Thank you to Helena for an early listen!
