Very fast paced and short book. Interesting plot to the book that focuses on a female recruited as a bodyguard for a Yakuza daughter. I got lost with the jumps in time at one point, but it was still pretty understandable. Overall a nice short read.

I read this in one sitting. I’m still gasping at the ending but absolutely loved it!

I need to read this again to better savor it and understand the details better. I like a book like that. It’s layered, at least a little, which is quite the feat on such a short and action-packed book.

I was promised violence, and violence I got.

The cast of yakuza characters behave how you'd expect and of course the boss' daughter is a brat who has a character arc, but this was action packed, filled with rage and revenge, and had some unexpected twists that had me finish the book quickly to know what happens next! the timeline does some serious jumps (i'm talking decades) from one paragraph to the next so i did find myself getting lost and having to back track a few times, otherwise it was a very dark yet engaging little read that packs a punch (hehe)
