Oh my goodness. A story that LOVES the differences between Pencils and Erasers. I mean, to Pencil, it just seemed like the Eraser was getting in his way. But then he learned all of the ways an Eraser could compliment him (especially when it comes to mazes ;)

I can't stand a pencil without a good eraser!

I want to use this book with kids. Talking about art yes, but talking about how we need people of ALL types.

Pencil loves to draw and loves to be the boss. He does not appreciate eraser coming in and making changes to his work, even when it might make the picture better. After pencil makes a mistake and needs eraser's help to fix it, he admits that eraser's not so bad and the two can work together. There are lots of books about pencils and erasers out there, but this one stands out for the creative use of an eraser to change and enhance pictures. It might encourage kids to experiment with the art they can make by erasing instead of just drawing.

Cute picture book about how we can be better together, than we are apart, featuring a pencil and eraser.

Did you wonder why pencils have an eraser? Her pencil and eraser tell it like it is.

Pencil loves to draw and he doesn't need anyone to collaborate with, thank you very much. Eraser loves creating negative space (in the most positive way possible). At first, it seems the two supplies will never get along, but then eraser does something "a-maze-ing" to open pencil's eyes to a new way of seeing. Will any other art supplies join in the fun? This is a cute story with an important message about flexibility. It starts out strong, but deflates a bit in the middle when the problem is solved way too easily. The characters are the only illustrations done in color, which makes each page eye-catching. Young readers will enjoy this book, but it will be quickly forgotten.
