Beyond the Wand

Audiobook (1.5,1.75, 2x): A very enjoyable memoir. Slow at times, and pitched positively and respectfully. I appreciated his humble approach to those he worked with in his Harry Potter years. It was so exciting to hear about each of them! So many celebrity memoirs will not talk about certain shows. I had no idea he was in the Borrowers! I remember watching it!

It *pains* me to know there is so much footage out there filmed that didn’t make the final cuts. I really wish they’d release it some day.

We recently watched the last 3 HP films and he did an amazing job in Deathly Hallows 1- I thought he really showed growth in his acting, I was happy he talked about that scene! He talked about his major scenes in the book, and his as an actor, you would not know if your scene was cut or not until the premiere.

One more fun fact: I didn’t know this memoir existed, and last week when I was at the Harry Potter store, there was a display of wands you could buy. I really liked Draco’s. It was so smooth.

While I loved the Harry Potter aspects of this book, I couldn't help but find myself wanting more of just Tom Felton and his life outside of the magical world. The last part of the book was my favorite and I wish we had gotten more of that story and insight.

I enjoyed this. Tom is funny and I really enjoyed learning more about the film making processes and the behind the scenes of HP. I also was not aware of Tom’s struggles, so it was interesting to read about what he went through.

Impossible not to read in his voice. A fascinating look behind the scenes, but also an honest, open introspection that few people have put to paper.

An interesting and enjoyable read! A behind the scenes look at Tom's career and how it has shaped him I thought this was a very frank and open biography. The message he delivers around mental health and acceptance is also one of great importance and I'm glad this was included.

Draco es uno de los personajes favoritos y es gracias a Tom. Disfrute cada pagina el audiolibro es aun mejor porque el lo narra. Es una persona maravillosa, me encantaria conocerlo en persona. Despues de leer el libro mire las peliculas.

A fun, honest, inviting look into the backstage world of the Harry Potter films, and what it's like to grow up in the global spotlight. I appreciate Tom Felton's willingness to share both the magical moments and the devastating battles of his own journey, and I love any book that ends with a call to de-stigmatize mental health care and encourages asking for help--because we all need it.

Listened to this book and am so glad I did! Tom was a wonderful narrator, his stories were charming and resonated, and I loved getting more of an inside peek into the HP movies. Definitely recommend the audiobook!

Listened to the audiobook, which Tom Felton narrated himself.

Fun, honest, and encouraging. Enjoyed the listen!
