i didn’t look into the plot very much, i skimmed it and then liked the cover and noticed that it was popular. i don’t like reading about covid-19, and that’s one of the main “plot” points. in general, there was pretty much no plot, and i didn’t like the characters at all. some people really enjoyed this so don’t let this review discourage you unless you dislike the same aspects as me.

Wonderful. The interspersing of story and questions/commentary about writing itself scratched all the itches in my brain. I was hooked from page one:

“Only when I was young did I believe that it was important to remember what happened in every novel I read. Now I know the truth: what matters is what you experience while reading, the states of feeling that the story evokes, the questions that rise to your mind, rather than the fictional events described.”

I may not always remember what happened in this book but I will remember that I loved reading it.
