2023: Still loved this book, but boy howdy I didn’t remember how badly a lot of it aged. But I did love reading it after watching the show, and picturing the actors and hearing their voices. Made it even better.

Aziraphale the angel and Crowley the demon are a lot of fun in the way they contrast. Aziraphale is strict, fastidious, and always plays by the rules. Crowley is bold, hedonistic, and not a huge fan of rules. They're enjoyable in their own right and especially fun when they bounce off each other.

it's been a bit of a Pratchett thing to descripe people pretty scathingly by body size and shape but it didn't feel like it normally did in this book. it felt like it was making fun of fat millennials and delicate snowflakes type vibes. i haven't read enough neil gaiman to know if this is more his influence
