This was honestly a perfect ending to the trilogy 😭. I did not see where it was going, but I love how all the little details, including ones from even the first book, all weaved together to form the ending. Loved all the characters and I’m so sad it’s over.
Listened to on Audible for the family book club.

I love this, the series, the universe, the magic system. I laughed and I cried. Ending was, of course, beautifully done chaos. The Hero of Ages isn't who I expected, or not in the way I expected.
Above all, I love how Sanderson writes his characters. They are flawed, but they grow and change. Series spans several years and there are few bigger time jumps. Even tho he doesn't always show gradual progress of the characters, their mental state, thinking, you can always understand how they got there.

Elend has one of the best character arcs I've read. He started as an idealistic fool (and I mean that in the best way possible). He ended up as someone with authority, in a position of power. Of course, his democratic utopia failed, so he changed. But he never became cruel. He did some things Elend in the first book would rather die than do. But he always cared for the people, and stood by them, even when all hope was lost just to give them a few moments more.

I didn't expect to enjoy Marsh's POV as much as I did. It's so eerie and creepy. The way he describes horrible things with such joy and awe is amazing.
I just want to mention TenSoon. I wish we got to see more of him.

Brandon Sanderson ended this one with a bang! Literally. I am bawling my eyes out because of how good it was but also the tragedy of it! I don’t want to say too much cause I don’t want to spoil it. I’ll only say one thing DON’T FLIP THROUGH PAGES YOU WILL SPOIL AND DIE! It’s just a fact.

Onto critiques; I’ve never liked how much Sanderson used the word awesome and this one is no different. It also started out pretty slow, but it picks up and goes so hard.

The feeling the ending gave me is one I wish I could bottle for difficult times.
