This won't challenge you but it's a great story and a perfect holiday read. I could picture the movie it'll inevitably become as I was reading it.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this story and I really resonated with both the two characters Pheobe and Lila.

I had super high hopes for this book and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed that it wasn’t a cliché, I feel like with stories about suicide and depression authors can fall into the cliché of mental health and I feel like this one did a really good job of having the character, Phoebe living her life while her mental health was still very much a topic in the background, but also was growing in the process.

I had a roller coaster of emotions with Leila, I liked her, and then I hated her and then I liked her, and then I hated her, and I think I came to the conclusion that I don’t like her. Yes, I understand she saved Phoebe, but that alone does not make her a decent human being. At the beginning of the book I really did not want Phoebe and Gary to get together because that would be pretty shit to steal the groom away from the bride who just saved you. But as time passed, and as Leila grew bitchier and bitchier, I was whole heartedly rooting for Leila’s downfall 👀

if you want to read this book, go for it do not wait. If you’re questionable about this book because it’s a GMA book club book or it’s a NYT book, the hype is worth it!
