The Wedding People by Alison Espach waz da July @bullybookclub pick! This book was deserving of all da hype it has received and we were glad to finally be able to mark it finished from our TBR list!

This book tells the emotional story of Phoebe and her struggle with depression as she is dealing with her life and inner turmoils she decides to go to a lavish hotel to take her own life, but finds herself surrounded by strangers staying at the hotel for an extravagant wedding. As Phoebe is dispersed amongst these wedding people she ends up befriending the bride and learning more about herself and a life worth living as she is swept away in the wedding people’s drama!

This book made mahm life and cry, but we want to give a disclaimer that this book handles a lot of tough topics we found that the protagonist’s sense of humor balanced the book’s heaviness.

This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This set-up of this book was remarkably similar to The Midnight Library, but the execution was more fun, in my opinion. I really enjoyed all of the Wedding People and how they interacted with Phoebe and each other. Phoebe’s character does a complete 180, and I really enjoyed how she ended up. The beginning of the book is rough- it is dark and there is a lot of suicidal talk and behavior. However! It turns around by the mid-way point and becomes a lot more fun!

Enjoyed and would read again, witty, original, humorous and makes you think about past/future life. I wish the ending was longer and that’s the reason for my rating. I wanted more of the main characters towards the end but it ended and I was looking for more chapters.
