Loved this book, especially the first chapter was very relatable and heartbreaking. The story becomes relatively fun and happier but I loved it.

I wasn't sure about this book, as I struggled to connect with Phoebe at first. But once it started going, once her evolution began... Hold on. This is a beautiful story of grief, love, and what it means to feel alive. Does have a heavy suicide plot line, as well as the death of spouse/family members, so not an easy light hearted rom com. However, I found it incredibly uplifting by the end as the characters start to realize how important finding yourself is vs trying to make everyone else happy. And how that's an ongoing challenge and effort you must make throughout your life.

No one in this book is perfect. All of the characters felt pretty real, and I love even the ones you'd think were more "shallow" or surface had extremely vulnerable moments. I would re-read this just to go on Phoebe (and Lila and Greg and Juice)'s journey again.

I really wish there was an epilogue for this one!

5/5⭐️!! This book deserves all the hype it's been getting. It's beautifully written and the story flows very well to the point where I never wanted to put it down. The characters are multidimensional and jump off the page, conveying such a range of emotions to the point you'll be feeling all the feels. There are so many good quotes in this book that I could add here, but instead of reading the quotes please go read this book!

Also, as someone who was born and raised in Rhode Island, the details about the area were pretty spot on. My favorite quote, which tells me the author did their research, was, “Anywhere farther than thirty minutes in Rhode Island is a destination wedding.” Spoken like a true Rhode Islander.

I loved how complex and human all the characters were but somehow at the same time they were so over the top and fun to read! I think this is the first book I’ve read that really shows what it was like during and immediately after the Covid 19 lockdowns and the psychological effects it had on people.

I also really liked how the ending was satisfying but didn’t tie everything up in a bow!
