I loved everything about this but I feel like we've stopped focusing on a certain characters... like Misa and Ryiuk; two of my favorite characters and that were there from the beginning, they just seem toss to the side which is understandable with all these new characters but I was hoping for them to act up at this point and go against Light for once. I still enjoyed this one and I am nervous to see how this wrap up and most importantly who wins; new L's or Light.

Not my favourite instalment. Don’t love the whole Near & Mello stuff :/

4/5 Stars: ‘Death Note’ (Book #5 of ‘Black Edition’) by Tsugumi Ohba.
→ Age Range: Young Adult.
→ Genre: Manga, Criminal Fantasy.
→ Trigger Warnings: Toxic Masculinity, Emotional Manipulation, Violence.

General Comments: A battle of wits; convoluted with several twists and unexpected turns that build up towards the impending finale. The original ‘Cat-and-Mouse’ chase is whittled down; whilst unfortunate, it masterfully adds to the tense and imminent doom approaching: will the protagonist or antagonist win? But who is who? The high-concept thriller never ceases to impress.

Favourite Quote: ‘You said she’s smart, but it only means she got high marks. She’s actually a stupid woman.’

4.5 stars.

Things aren't half getting complicated!

Not going to lie but I feel that the series could have ended by now.

There are still interesting aspects but I feel like it is dragging on. What made the first few volumes great is missing now and it just keeps getting more and more confusing.

I don’t know man. It’s still cool and stuff, but it’s starting to drag a little. But also, there were some bombshells. But I still wanted more from this.

Ugh. The worst one in the series so far...
