Fun book! Currently my niece's favorite series.

I'm not a Patterson fan and his Treasure Hunters series won't be making a fan out of me it seems. While the writing is serviceable, the characters likeable and distinguishable, and the plot is entertaining there is just something Treasure Hunters lack that keeps it from being truly great. It's one of those books that you like well enough while reading, but you would never have any desire to read again. It's forgettable at best and mediocre at worst.

Why the three stars then? Because I did enjoy reading it. I'm in no rush to read the sequel, although I have it as well I will read the next book in my backlog, but it was fun while it lasted and there were really no fundamental problems with the book.

Four kids are on the high seas searching for treasure while trying to find out what happened to their mom and day. Lots of humor and fun pictures, this adventure kept my nine year old riveted to the Kidds.

Very fun middle grade book. There were guns and some mild violence. Completely unbelievable story line, but that's part of what makes it fun. Missing parents, presumed dead... but then, maybe not. The kids will have to keep hunting them in subsequent books. Loved the sibling relationships, mild squabbling (true to life) but mostly supportive of each other.

Skimmed through this for work to check if it was appropriate for kids. Just wanted to give a heads-up to parents (because I didn't see any other reviews mention it) that there are a couple risqué drawings of women in bikinis, if you want to be on the lookout for that sort of thing.

Loved this series when I was younger, if you have a kid that dreams of adventure and seeing the world then they will love these books.

i liked the drawings, nice break between pages

pace was quite slow but makes sense if i was 10
and only had 10 minutes before recess

not necessarily interested in the next
connecting book

cute characters

Tommy, Storm, Beck and Bick are the four Kidd children. Their mother has disappeared in Cyprus and their father disappeared off their boat, The Lost, during a storm. This is a family of treasure hunters and the kids continue the hunt for the next treasure just like their dad had planned. They are beset by shady dealers, pirates, surfer pirates, sneaky girls, a shady uncle and a whole gaggle of other dangers. They have to figure out the clues their dad left them and get to the treasure before someone else does.

This book was a chore to get through. The writing isn't that great and it is just too unbelievable in every aspect. Then there were the "twin tirades". Beck and Bick are twins and they like to have twin tirades; they even keep track of how many they have had. The twin tirade is basically them yelling at each other and saying mean things for about a minute and then making peace. The first one was sort of entertaining, the sixth one was sort of annoying and by the twelfth I was ready to skip it entirely. I think some kids will enjoy this story and the ones that follow (because of course it is a series), but it was definitely not for me.

Fun read.

Too many holes to honor kids' intelligence but still fun. I can see why they like it!
