my thoughts while reading.
unpopular opinion, i hate june.
i like juna and anden together.
why are you drinking wine you are like fifteen!!!?
ollie is a slay and the singular best character.

about halfway through i'm kinda done with this book, but i shall push through.

i finished, bruh this ending had me close to tears, close. normally i don't cry when i read but i almost broke that rule. any way final thoughts none of the characters really got any development, and i was pretty boring, the middle part, that is. i found junes POV to be boring and filled with a bunch of politics.
anyway i'm off to cry now, if you are a fan of dystopian romance this book is for you if not, then i wouldn't bother.
side note: i was not aware that day had long hair, he is now dead to me. i'm sorry i just have a thing against guys with long hair, it just looks sloppy to me.

Excuse my language, but what the fuck was that ending? That had to be the worst way to End the series! I totally get having a crazy ending. Totally understand that, but come on. That was so out of left field, and the fact that you put it that far into the future come on. I hated that I barely got through this book without not fishing it I absolutely love all things dystopian end of the world crazy things like this book is, and I really had high hopes for it because I felt like it was very much Covid meets divergent meets hunger games meets us against the government I am just so disappointed in this ending.

This is how you end a trilogy!

Legend didn't caught my interest as much as Prodigy and Champion did. I'm happy i didn't stop with the series because the turning of events from Prodigy to Champion was definitely heart gripping! It starts from the supposedly assissination of Anden, the traitors in the Patriots, Day's allegiance to the Republic, the war with the Colonies, Day's failing health, Eden and June being the cure for the plague, the fake surrender to the Colonies, and the most heartbreaking part when Day almost died, losing some of his memories and the bittersweet yet heartwarming ending. The story seriously got better with each books.

Aside from the plot, Day's character was also one of the things that kept me reading. He was just a boy who grew in the poorest sector of LA then became the most wanted criminal who eventually lost everything he has and suffurred in the hands of the Republic. But being the rebel that he is made him the people's hero. He is loyal and willing to fight what is right, and ready to sacrifice everything even his own life just to save the country who once caused him a miserable life. He is probably one of the best characters out there on Dystopian books, well at least for me. I seriously bawled my eyes out when he was shot, i thought he was going to die but part of me was desperately hoping he will make it. Thanks Marie Lu for not betraying me.

I salute you for writing a great ending for this unforgettable trilogy. I understand now what the hype was all about.

This was an average series. Nothing groundbreaking but a fun read. I did however notice what might have been a mistake, but it's a minor issue.

Spoiler In which Day twice recounts the crime for which he was first put on the Republic's most wanted list, first as a 15 year old who set fire to ten jets at an airbase and then as a 14 year old who broke into two airships and set fire to the engine rooms. There is however a chance that this is due to memory problems in which case it's a great foreshadowing.
