Didn’t think I was a Sally Rooney fan. Turns out I loved this book. There was a little section where I started to get annoyed that they really could just have a quick chat and fix all their problems, but it didn’t ruin the book for me like it has with some other (I do get that can be the whole point of her writing, but it’s an irrational bugbear for me).

when ivan is describing his relationship w his mother that’s when i started to like the book. idk how sally rooney knows what i think about when i talk to my mother but that’s crazy and i locked in from there. and then when he’s thinking about the rent but he’s excited to see margaret like god damn. 

i ended up liking it a lot, but i rated it so low because i will probably never read it again because it is difficult to follow and kind of boring. the sec scenes are kinda hot tho and i do think sally rooney writes a damn good character.
