I almost gave this 4 stars just for the ending but it didn't quite get there. Still - I thoroughly enjoyed this book and being back in the Thezmarr world.
Miscommunication between couples is one of my bookish bugbears and there was quite a lot of this happening!
I love Helen's spice - probably close to my favourite spice of all the spicy books but it was a lot, so much so I think the plot got lost a little amongst it.
I loved every time Thea and Wilder were on the page - top tier book boyfriend there!
I'm so excited for book three after that cliffy!

Being back in Thezmar is like having a warm hug! Especially every time Thea and Wilder showed up! Enjoyed the progression of Wren and Torj's relationship and a bit of plot toošŸ˜… Helen writes my favourite spice! Delish!! Their lack of communication though....
Also, kipp and cal are usually my faves but missed some of their humour and banter. So here for Zavier and Cal next book!
that ending though, made me very excited for book 3 and so excited its coming this year too! Amazing Helen!!!

At this point, I could 100% read Helen’s grocery list. She makes me laugh and cry every single time.

I’ve been counting down the days to dive back into Wren & Torj’s story since I finished Iron & Embers (in absolute shambles, might I add). And while I spent half the book yelling at Torjā€”ā€œjust tell her the truth already!ā€ā€”I loved every single second.

The way this story is building toward the final book has me so hyped for Silver and Smoke! And the fact that we’re getting it in November? I’m already clearing my schedule.

Reuniting with this little family felt like coming home. Six books in, and these characters are everything to me. Honestly, I just want to go to the Laughing Fox and have a few pints with them 🄹.

Like in Iron & Embers, I adored following Wren’s journey. Her growth is so inspiring. I always knew she’d become an independent, fierce woman, but what touched me most was when she finally realized she didn’t have to carry everything alone.

The yearning in this book? Next. Level. 😳

The ending wrecked me (again), because of course it did. I knew it was coming… my babies can’t stay happy for more than two minutes 😭.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narrators captured Wren & Torj’s emotions beautifully.

Thank you Helen, Anne, Pan Macmillan, and NetGalley for the ARC, this is my honest review.
