The first half of this book was painfully boring to the point I was concerned that I wasn’t going to finish it, but luckily, I sped through the second half, which was more action packed and insightful.
The 1920’s chapters were by far the most engaging to me, I would’ve loved a whole book/plot following just that.
Despite the ‘age gap’, Ricki and Ezra’s relationship worked incredibly well and they feel like a couple you’d meet out day to day. It definitely came across as a soulmate kinda vibe, and didn’t even clock that it was basically insta love until after I finished.
I need more of Tuesday - maybe a book centred around her? It was genre bending which was cool and not something I see often, however the ending was very predictable.

Very slow to start and not as good as Seven Days in June (which I LOVED) but worthwhile.

“For a long time, I thought I knew what my calling was. My grand purpose. But when I met Ricki, I knew I was wrong. I was a fool, thinking that I was born to do anything grander than loving her.”
This is one that I soft DNF’d last year when it came out, but I am so glad I picked it back up!! And the audiobook was FANTASTIC!!
This was such a beautiful love story. Ricki and Ezra had undeniable chemistry from the start and I was drawn to them the same way they were drawn to each other. They have the “I’ve waited for you my whole life” type of love and Williams writes their story so beautifully. I never once questioned their love for each other. I just wish we’d gotten more of them falling in love with each other!!
I love how this was a love letter to Harlem in addition to being a love story. I really enjoyed the historical fiction element to this one and learned a lot about the Harlem Renaissance time period!
This is so different from the romances I usually read, but I think I found a new favorite sub genre in romance with magical realism?!
