I really quite enjoyed this. I thought it was a good start to the trilogy.

At first it took me a little bit to really get into the story as I felt like I’d been dumped into the middle of a story and that the wedding should have happened half way through a longer novel. I found myself wishing more time had been spent setting up the characters, their cultures and the conflict between their races. I also wanted to have gotten to know Zorvut more as a character and learn about his home life with his family. Taegan’s past relationship with Kelvhan could also have been expanded on.

In saying all that though, I really loved our main characters. I thought they made a great couple and enjoyed the times they spent getting to know each other.

I also like that there’s no explanation by the author for the homosexuality that seems to be an inherent part of the elves’ culture. It’s such a non issue to all the characters (the same way that heterosexuality has always been to readers) that it feels as though the author is deliberately not beating the reader over the head with an explanation as to why this is part of the story. It just is.

I will note, though, that there were more sex scenes than I thought there would be (some possibly unnecessary). Don’t be fooled by the cover - this is definitely an adult book.

A solid start to the series. I’m looking forward to continuing with book 2.

Tropes:

I really liked this !! There's porn and a plot!!

It's about an elf prince married to the 3rd son of the orc king. The orc Zurvet, is one of the smaller orcs of the sons and is shy and reserved at first. The elf prince Taegan is quick to make this marriage work. The chemistry between the two is very sweet but fast.

When married they form a magical bond sharing their emotions and physical touch through the bond, and it's strong ;) The bond makes it feel 10x as much.

The sex comes 30% in the book and it's frequent. The size difference is chef's kiss. Nothing too crazy besides the self-lubricating body parts.

There are mentions of Mpreg existing in this world. In this world, men can get married and can procreate. No pregnancy happens in this book.

Reason for why I mention infidelity
no one cheats, but the elf prince has a boo that keeps coming back to reignite their relationship.

It's not standalone.
There's a twist at the end
so you need to read book 2
