I would actually give this a 3.5 stars, but I enjoyed the premise and the art style, but I was mostly underwhelmed. I may pickup the next volumes if they are on Hoopla.
So this was pretty fun, especially the way Fraction plays with time (in multiple ways). Also, it's easy to get lost in the color palette and the artistry, yet it doesn't hinder your ability to follow the plot.
I really liked the art style of this graphic novel. It was certainly-different- but anytime someone is trying to save a library I'm in. I also dig the sex positive masturbation vibe but I'm not sure it's a storyline that I love enough to continue with the series. Still, a quick fun graphic novel read.
Such an amazing concept for a story. I love this series.
I originally saw first saw Sex Criminals at FanExpo and the title and pink cover were certainly attention grabbers.
Overall, I found the story to be an interesting concept. I also liked how young people and sexuality were presented in this story. I wasn't the biggest fan of how character background and history was given at some parts of the story (flashbacks not my thing =P). Nevertheless, I'm interested in reading the second volume to see where the story goes.

When this was first recommended to me on Amazon I kind of did a double take. I wasn't sure why they'd think that this was a comic I'd enjoy, but I was intrigued. Then I went to my favorite local bookstore and they had the first volume and I had to indulge myself.
I'm so glad I did, it was so beyond what I'd ever expected. It's an interesting concept, the fact that these two people freeze time when they orgasm. What a super power. I really enjoyed the art, which was gorgeous, as well as the story and the humorous little quips that Fraction includes in there. There were actually multiple times in which I took pictures and sent them to friends because I found it that funny.
This comic is obviously mature, and for mature readers, but if you can handle sex jokes and explicit content, but it was worth it. And the surprise addition of an enforcement force for people who have this ability was equally hilarious.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to enjoy a comic where 2 people realize their orgasms freeze time, and then decide that the next step is to pull a Bonnie and Clyde, but the comic is surprisingly touching, and the characters come across more as regular people with a really weird hobby than as oddball supervillain/superhero (?) types. I'm intrigued enough to read another volume, which is a good review in my books.
