This does have a certain charm to it. I just don't think it's necessarily for me.
Jon and Suzie stop time by having sex...
...so they rob banks.
Great premise. The comic itself had too much sex, too much moaning about first-world problems, and too little crime. Maybe I'm alone in preferring heists to porn (and hating your job), but I don't enjoy sex as a spectator sport.
I recently read some of the Parker heist novels and wished that Parker stopped time when he had sex. Now THAT would be a brilliant graphic novel series.

Totally enjoyable. Especially when the guys working on my house saw it on a table and shot me SUCH a look. God only knows what they thought it's about....
I was also happily surprised that two men did such a good job with the leading female character. She only acted out of feminine character two times - one being the 'f-it' to her years-long best friend. They didn't prep with enough estrangement to make that believable. There's way more talking it out and guilt around besties breaking up in girl-land.
Secondly, I just don't know any women who think 'fat bottomed girls' is their absolute fave song. It's a great song. But great enough to jump up and sing and dance to it in front of your brand new boyfriend when no one else is singing or dancing? Yeah, no. It's a boy-song. That said, that section was awfully funny and sweet.

A hell of a lot of fun and I can't wait to see where it's going.
Totally bizarre set-up (time literally stops whenever the main characters orgasm - so of course they rob banks while time is frozen) gives way to a fun, charming and unexpected story about two people finding each other, and treats sex as natural part of relationships. Chip Zdarsky's artwork is lovely too - the work he does to make stopped time look different from moving time is gorgeous.
This guy, this fucking guy.

There is so much goodness in this one, but it's also a little confusing at times. It jumps from past to present to breaking the fourth wall and it makes it a tiny bit difficult to keep track of what is happening, who knows what, etc. but I did really enjoy it.
I thought the first two issues were really interesting. I liked seeing the dynamic between Suze and Jon develop as they realized they were both affected by this curse. I thought the third issue was the best because of the karaoke scene that wasn't. But after that with the fourth and fifth issues, I had a really hard time keeping track of time and the story. It seemed to jump a little all over the place and not really allow the reader to continue on the same linear path that the first three issues had allowed.
The dialogue was crisp and clean and felt really natural. I think the art in this one is fantastic and I enjoyed all the bright colours that were attributed to the "Quiet." As well, I just really enjoyed the concept of this one -- good people doing bad things to save a library! My kind of people. BUT as a warning, if someone's dick glows, that is a BAD SIGN. Do not have sex with them.
I will be continuing with this series!

Loved this! Over the top, tongue-in-cheek, a nod to existing comic-lore while being uniquely it's own. Will be looking into the next volume for sure!
