Whew! Finally finished it after all these weeks!...And I must admit, i was blown away! It got me squealing like a girl!...Well, I am a girl, but not the girly girl type.

I think this book sucked. 1st nothing happened throughout the entire book until the 2nd to last chapter and even that was taking forever so I just skipped over that chapter to the end to find what new and idiotic move Ever decided to pull this time...and that ending was more predictable than how disgusting fruit cake is. 2nd the book was extremely under done. I could sum up the entire book in one chapter...that's how little happened. Everythings fine..Ever feels guilty the entire book...Damen acts wierd...Romans a jerk and a pig...teacher and aunt start dating....Ever makes stupid mistakes over and over again...oh and let's not forget the ever faithful part of this series that Damen just feels so guilty he has to leave for the umpteenth time...look out whole book sumed up. I just think that for a series that was going well before was a complete....disapointment and I was saddened that I even read it.
mysterious tense medium-paced

Shadowland continues Ever’s story as she meets new people who have an inexplicable impact on her life and feelings. Damon takes notice and begins to pull away, but who will Ever choose?

I gave up. I just couldn't care...

SPOILERS SPOILERS EVERYWHERE:
i was right. noel is using that every other book i will right will be crap method. this book was so dumb. like i just finished reading it and i have no idea what the plot was. actually, it was just waiting around. seriously she could have kept chapter one and the last one and put them in dark flame and i would have been caught up. you only need to know the last two chapters anyway. when she binds roman to herself, thats the plot to the next book.
SPEAKING OF WHICH. wtf with her telling us the plot of the next book in the previous book?
like in blue moon, the very end, roman makes sure damen and (haha uh wow i cant remember her name..) ever! ever and damen cant touch. and how was that secured? because of a bedside rash decision (damens dying) . in this book? at the end, a bedside rash decision (havens dying) secures the plot to the next book, haven being an immortal and roman being bound to ever. i just wish the books didnt overlap like that. its stupid. its like the book starts, all it is is damage control, and then at the end she makes a mistake. the next book, she does damage control the entire book then makes another bedside rash decision and makes more mistakes. please. get original. it just makes me mad. as you well know.
also, according to the formula, at the very end, she'll either think she found another rouge or she actually will. i made that prediction in october. i finished it in november. and bam, i was right on both accounts.
THIS is my policy on artwork and books: i only like it if i cant do it. the reason i dont think the picture of your feet is amazing? because i could do that. i can replicate it. the books i love? im not that skilled at writing. i could have written this, back in 2005 when i knew nothing about writing books and planning thing out and actually making things original. its like she only knows one formula and just pours her story into that mould.
ranting aside, some comments on the book:
why does rayne hate ever so much? that was never explained. she likes everyone else so its not the negative personality thing. she just seriously hates ever. im hoping its part of a bigger plot twist but i doubt it.
oh, theres this one part where evers like "WHOA past tense? why did you use past tense?" it was such a sad attempt. it really was. it was even obvious enough that i realized what they were talking about. besides, doesnt ever suck at english? doesnt she suck at school in general? why would she pick that up? i just saw right through the book at noel and was like, nice try. i know youre good at english, but ever isnt so you should probably find a way to fix that.
i was very impressed with chatper 17 though. the one about the cat. its very literary. theres lots of symbolism and foreshadowing and similies. its not the best becuase i picked up on it immediately, totally giving away the ending, but still. i commend her for her attempts and im impressed. nice.
how come everyone in this book as a personality except the main character? like haven has a personality, so does miles, damen, roman, riley, sabine, seriously everyone but ever. its extremely frustrating.
i know romy and rayne have a purpose but theyre characters are all out of whack. theyre supposed to be 13, but they act like theyre 6 or 7. like rejoycing when they see damen and doing petty things to ever. i didnt do that when i was 13. when youre thirteen, youre finally a "teenager" and you would never act all excited and childish like romy and rayne do. seriously its not even their character, if noel had just lowered their age to like 7 or 8 or something, it would have worked. but she didnt. its like she seriously cant remember.
i never thought of immortals as pointless becuase you can live forever and do what you want. but if you really thinkg about it, you can never become famous and do anything great becuase then people would know that youre alive. and then if people knew you were alive, and youre still alive 90 years later, thats probably a bad idea. so thats extremely frustrating.
everytime the books says anything about haven and her cupcake, its disturbs me greatly. like you dont even know. it grosses me out so much. im having a hard time typing about it. it is just really disgusting. and it really makes me mad.
also, if a guy really loves you, he sint just going to stop speaking to you and break up with you to see if you and another guy are meant to be together. im sorry but it just isnt going to happen. it never does. if it does, he doesnt really love you.
when my boyfriend broke up with me and told me he didnt love me anymore, he couldnt stop talking to me and then begged me to come back because he could be without me. like im just saying if someone really loves you, they cant let you go. and they definately cant let you go to someone else. thats just not how we work as people. so im sorry shadowland and new moon, the love of your life is never going to leave you alone. maybe its a different case with immortals. haha i dont know. but if you want your books to be relatable to girls, than calm down with the lies.

okay thats enough i think. on a brighter note, dark flame looks awesome! becuase roman is such a nasty chracter and now shes bound to him. although, this is another one of those same plots she uses. she just puts the main characters with new people, just like a preppy school clique that all date each other but theyre all in the same group.
seriously. ever and damen, ever and jude, damen and stacia, ever and roman, seriously. its obnixious. maybe i need to be more preppy and shallow to enjoy this series.

adventurous challenging dark fast-paced
