I was in the camp of people who expected more of an emphasis on the "conspiracy culture and why people will believe anything" part of the title, not a book that felt centred around Flat Earth. While the author does cover other conspiracy theories and groups, they didn't receive nearly as much attention as I had expected. That being said, this was a highly informative book. For anyone who wants to learn about the history of the Flat Earth conspiracy, this is a great read.

I enjoyed this book, largely due to the editorial commentary. It felt meandering in places, but the author's writing style made it seem like I was following her thinking process through these movements.

Leaned heavily on the history of the flat earth movement perhaps at the expense of more time spent with current believers and the implications of conspiratorial thinking. But absolutely gave me tons of background on something I previously held only a cursory knowledge of.
informative

This was pretty interesting. I found myself bored with the parts of the books that went into this flat earther who started that society or this guy who wrote this book, etc etc. The last few chapters kept my attention the most - understanding why people believe conspiricies, and connecting flat earth to wider array of paranoid, sometimes conservative thinking, that's ultimately dangerous for the people who fall prey to it, let alone the people around them.

Shallow.
