I think "it was ok" just about sums it up for me. The writing was decent, the content was textbook standard YA love story. The characters were fairly two-dimensional, especially Seth (AKA ridiculously perfect boyfriend). The ending was obvious about 10 pages into the book. If you want a very low investment light & easy read to pass the time you might enjoy it.

I picked this book because of the lovely blue color on the cover. In the end it was too much good and not enough evil. Shallow even.

Cute book, though I think it ended up with some internal story conflicts.
I might read the next one if it just happen to fall into my lap and I just happen to have a spare few hours. Not gong out of my way.

After reading Blue Bloods this book is very refreshing and good.

pretty good book :)

Plot or Character Driven: A mix

All right so after a rather long hiatus while working for an online agency I didn't have much time to read..I also almost lost the will to read. But it is back. As am I.

The last book I read was Wicked Lovely-a fantasy book for young adults. As I still consider myself a young adult (Yes on the other side leaning more towards adult than young) I loved it and enjoyed it immensely. Its all about this young girl-Aislin-who can see Faeries-which is against faerie law. She's had this gift ever since she was a small infant but can get into a lot of trouble. She pretends she can't see them and tries to get on with a normal life with her friend with possible benefits Seth. At the same time the Summer king; Keenan has chosen her to be the next candidate to become the Summer Queen. How ever he is fighting with the Winter Queen (who is also his mother who has bound his powers and is wanting to keep control of the seasons). Any way the long and long of it with out giving the ending away is that Keenan wants Aislin to be the Summer Queen which goes against everything she's been taught. What will she do? what will happen? Will Biera (The Winter Queen) Triumph? Who knows? I do :D But I will not give anything away :p So that was the one book that reignited my love of reading.

The concept was okay, the writing wasn't bad, but the ending and story as a whole was really lacking.

Fae fiction is one of my favorite sub-genres, and this had a lot of great elements. However, everything wrapped up in a really cheesy and rather ridiculous way. It was as if every character had to have a magical happy ending regardless of how incompatible it was with the earlier conflict and lore elements established by the author.

Overall, it only took about two and a half hours to read the entire book, so I wouldn't dissuade someone from bringing this to the beach or on an airplane, but be careful not to read it looking for the next great YA faerie series. There are just too many others out there.

this all feels like a weird version of twilight without all the emotional abuse
