I got this book for free on my nook, and it's good I didn't pay anything for it. While the story was somewhat interesting, there was close to zero character development and background information in the story. I didn't know how to feel towards any of the characters because I knew nothing about them.

I bought the sequel off the bargain table at Borders, so I'll give that one a try at some point. Hopefully it'll improve upon this poor effort by Melissa Marr.

AND Seth has a belly button ring??!! Not kosher on guys at all.

It's a hair less than 4 stars, but rounding up for originality and for Seth.

I'm not usually fond of fey books, but ever since reading 'The Iron King' I thought...'Hey why not?'

I'm finding it really hard to express what I think about this book. I dont know if thats a bad thing or a good thing. I found it confusing at the start and found it hard to get through, I found myself looking to see how many pages there were left until the end of the chapter. It just seemed to drag. But about 3/4 of the way through I found myself enjoying reading the book more and more. I thought Aislinn was ....well just a nice person. Not annyoing like some other protagonists I've encounterd. One character that I felt no feeling for was Seth - I dont know why, but whilst reading i found myself thinking 'just go away and let her be with the Summer King'. And for some reason the Winter Queen reminded me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice and Wonderland which I didnt like. But, the writing was easy enough to understand. So overall I did think it was an 'O.K' book, and I dont regret reading it. I just would NOT recommend this to a friend.

P.S I LOVE THE COVER!

So many rules to follow..so many rules to break!

After reading pretty positive reviews about this book and the teasers enticing me, I decided to listen to this on audio (thanks to my local library's electronic audio book program).

It was well worth the time spent listening. It has a reluctant hero(ine), love interest(s), and enough adventure to balance out the story. While this is not an action packed tale for the boys, it is not a mushy-gushy story either. Love plays a critical role, but is not the focus, necessarily.

For me the novel was about choices. We have choices in life and they aren't always the ones we'd like to pick from, but those are our options. Our choices are often limited, but with some creativity and balance, we may find a way to pick an option we don't like and still find a happy ending.

it was alright. not memorable at all. i wouldn't recommend it.

Faeries and Fey are creepy! This is the 3rd book i've read about faeries and if I ever encounter one in real life, i will be running away, FAST!

I really wanted to give this book 4stars, but there were a lot of emotional characterization holes in the book. The author could have done so much more, infact, the book was begging for it. But I guess considering this is a Teen Fic, the simplicity works.

Luckily enough, it didn't bother me too much, and I plan to finish the series.
