The best YA book I've read recently!
There are some authors who do a lot of research even for stories that they make up entirely. And then there are authors who just make up. I'm not sure that either is really better... But Melissa Marr uses all the research she did to very successful ends, and the world she creates is beautiful as it is terrifying. Her characters--mortal and fey--are flawed, but brilliant. There is no "perfect" fairy, no "perfect" mortal. They all have their dilemmas, and they are all selfish. But it makes for a fantastic story.
I've already put both sequels--Ink Exchange and Fragile Eternity--on hold at the library. Can't wait to read more about Donia, Keenan, Aislinn, and Seth, by a truly great author. I would recommend this to anyone who loves sci fi fantasy fiction, and to everyone who doesn't--it will make you love it!

It was amazing!!! Melissa Marr is SUCH an amazing author. I can't wait to read Ink Exchange and all her other books to come.

I really enjoyed this book. I had heard mixed reviews, but I felt it was really well written and the ending was not predictable. I loved all of the characters, of course not Keenan's mother, but you weren't supposed to anyway. Looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
It's like 4.5 not 5 only because Seth was annoying as fuq
What a book! If I wasn't on summer vacation I probably would have called off work to stay home and read it. :)
