I don't pretend that this was an epic masterpiece, but I loved this book. It grabbed my attention immediately and I was barely able to put it down. The author took a genre and subject that has been seen so many times and ways, and made it unique and her own. I thought the ending was really well do w and didn't give in to the typical. I'm excited for more!
Chose this book based on the cover and interesting title. Should be titled Wicked Ugly. It had the feel of a cheesy supernatural 90's era afterschool special, condoning behavior and ideas that we should teach kids to eschew.
Imagine Eclipse, add some language and bring it down a few notches on the sensiblity scale. Yes, it was worse than Eclipse.

Started a little slow and ended a little fast, but overall a good story with interesting characters and beautiful descriptions. If you like fantasy and ya, this is a good, easy read. I’ll probably have to pick up the rest of the series now.
Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely is a perfect example of why the world of Fey is hidden from our eyes. With a beautiful writing style, life-like characters (even with their other-worldly birth or abilities), and excellent plot, I did more than love this book -- I wished I was there. [9/9/2008]
I really enjoyed this book. It surprised me because when I started reading it I thought great its going to be another book where the heroin turns into the main mans plaything. Aislinn didn't though she managed to stay true to herself, and she did a pretty good job of standing up to the big bad fairy's.
There wasn't really anything special about this book or the way it was written, although I did like the quotes taken from other books that were at the top of each chapter.
The story was interesting and it kept me reading and I enjoyed the book.

Love the quotes re: faerie lore at the beginning of each chapter and how it relates to what happens in the chapter.
I enjoyed this book for the most part. However, at times the author lost me...like this book needed one more dose of polish. Seemed a bit disjointed at parts, and Aislinn came across as a flake sometimes to me--this could be for a couple of reasons--the authors failure at relating events well, or my ignorance of faerie lore. It seemed like she resolved to behave some way or think a certain way, and then on the next page she was retracting on her resolve. Keenan is just plain pathetic, in my opinion. I know there's much at stake for him, and he's desperate, but he just came across as annoyingly pathetic. The way he flips between Aislinn and Donia super annoyed me, then again, I may have missed something. It just seemed off. Seth, on the other hand, is super yummy. :)

I'm just going through my list of books I've rated, and I have to say I remember years ago when I was reading this as a sophomore in High School and really being hooked. I don't know what I'd think of it now after having read all the rest, but I feel like it was really well done and interesting enough to make me want to read it instead of homework. If you're looking for a series go ahead and give this one a try; it might work for you.
This is a very good YA book. If you are a fan of YA lit, this is a must-have for your collection. It is the perfect mix of fantasy, action, faerie magic, and romance. Very hard to put down! :)
The author did try and be different and think outside for a YA (quote from my co-book club member) but it was way too repetitive for my liking and to me had a big miscommunication plot device, like if he would have just been upfront from the beginning things could be been handled sooner and probably differently.
