DNF sorry I cant get into the whole fairy thing, not just this author but others to, it is just not my cup of tea.

Reread April 23rd, 2019
I've read this book multiple times, and there's something about it that's very, well, lovely. Haunting. It's the kind of book that entrances you as the story unfolds, and keeps you with it the whole time. I really like Aislinn, Seth, Donia, and Keenan, and sympathize with all of them. It's interesting to watch each of them change and grow, not only in this book, but throughout the series. I did have a few problems with the book, but it's overall enjoyable. I am happy to have reread Wicked Lovely, as it's been a couple of years. 4 stars on the reread. Not sure if I will read more in the series.

Four stars because I’m a fan of Melissa Marr’s writing and the amazing way she can create a world, and the way her faeries are bad ass (as all faeries rightfully should be)

Minus a star because of the simple fact that when it comes to characters, this book didn’t really have any that interested me, and the presence of Keenan in general irked me.

I hate Keenan... he’s an asshole. There wasn’t a single moment in the entire book… or series when I felt any kind of emotion or thought for him other than ‘You’re an asshole Keenan, simple as.’

And Aislinn annoyed me. I felt sorry for her situation what with being basically forced against her will to either be with Keenan in some way or die. (Keenan, you’re an asshole)

Seth I liked, but I felt like he really needed more depth and I felt like he could have been an amazing character but just wasn’t quite.

Donia… I liked Donia, she had some semblance of a personality and I like the way she stuck up for herself… eventually. Though at the same time I was like, ‘Donia… Keenan’s an asshole… and you can do way better.’

Overall I did really enjoy this story, it was quite well written, but at the same time the plot was a bit… well it felt like it could have used some work. Most of the obstacles in the story consisted not of the evil winter queen like it probably should have, but of Aislinn being all ‘I DEFY YOU GUY WHO CLAIMS I WILL DIE IF I DO NOT TAKE THE TEST!’ That was good at the start, but then I kind of felt like… okay, just get over it now, or at the very least, if you’re not going to get over it, have the evil queen actually do something before the very last minute.

This review makes it sound not very good… but I honestly did enjoy it. I guess I’m not able to not enjoy this book because of how much I love the second one. Niall and Irial should be together forever, and any book they have even a minor presence in is awesome as far as I’m concerned.

Yay

I love this books so my type of read. Can’t wait to finish the rest of the series. Excited to the max

Interesting story about faeries that are not to be admired, but feared, about things that are not as they seem at first hand and about independence and free will. There is a lot of friendship and love, but not the way you expect them to be.
A story to enjoy willing to change what you thought YA and paranormal romance stories were. Great twists.
Even though this is a series, the book reads as a standalone (and I really appreciate the non existing cliffhangers). Next book will focus on different characters that appeared on the first one but weren't central. And so on.

"You'll never find out.”

This book was such a fast and easy-going journey. Before I knew it, I was at the end - and you know what, I really enjoyed it. Although not completely enthralled, I found I could just sit and read for hours without feeling a need to put the book down.

Everything wraps-up and unfolds rather simply, maybe too simply for my liking. But I am intrigued by where the subsequent books will go, as to be honest, you could probably leave it here as a standalone too.

I enjoyed this one the second read through a lot more than I did the first time I read it. I guess cause I already knew the characters and the world that Melissa Marr has created. I look forward to continue with re reading the series. I remember it gets really good.
