Completely great memoir. It's the first time in a while I have thought of a book, "I need to read more now."

One of the things that I appreciate is that it is ultimately a book about Jenny Boylan, not a book about her transition. Her life, her troubles, challenges and more. Less so the details of becoming a woman, though those are surely present.

Couldn't put it down. I read it all in one session at the library.

Just as engaging and fascinating as her parenting memoir. Afterward by Richard Russo adds a nice perspective.

I really enjoyed this book, right after finishing up I'm Looking Through You (although this one came out 5 years before that one). Lots of highlights in this book as well! Read the ebook and listened to the audiobook.

The pieces in parts one and two are some really astoundingly good storytelling. The back half is a little more essay-ish in a way that I personally found less engaging, but thes sections more for non-trans audiences than for me. A really neat time capsule.
