Didn’t love this one. It did not pull me in strongly. I was a bit confused by the magic system, which seemed both over- and under-explained. It did pick up toward the end but wasn’t enough for me to change my feelings. Probably will not pick up the next book in the series.

This book was so enjoyable! I barely put it down except to sleep! It had the feel of a film noir detective story at times, and was creepy at others. I loved the non-traditional ending as well.

Felt way too long for a 300 pages book, but was pretty okay? Don't regret reading it, I liked the characters and the plot points were interesting, also the ending made me curious for the next book. Hope in the following book the emphasis on how Charlie makes bad decisions again and again is toned down because it got annoying towards the end, like we get it, girl.
