Honestly, nothing new to the tropes here.

Mistaken identity with a slight twist, billionaire falling for nanny, a misunderstanding causes breakup, surprise pregnancy, and subsequent groveling.

Overall, pretty good writing, a bit repetitive, with plenty of steam.

I am currently taking a break from mafia romance and decided to give some good old contemporary romance a try. I- it was okay…

Dani is on the run from an ex boyfriend and her past and Emil is an billionaire widower with 2 kids. Unfortunately I found this quite boring.I don’t like widows or widowers who loved their late wife/husband, I’m weird like that. I rather they hate their ex to death. I think I would have preferred this book as a romantic suspense story instead of a basic rich man poor woman vibe.

****3.5****

I know all romances have moments of coincidence/serendipity, but this one stretched the bounds of disbelief a little the way it lined up every facet of their life and baggage. So I'm giving it 3.5, but rounding up because I liked that the FMC seriously stood up for herself. So few lead females will say "nope, I don't deserve this, and you can fuck right off buddy" when the male has realized how dumb he was and wants to make up.

Also, I liked that the situation with his first wife wasn't just black and white villain crap.

Lilian Monroe is a new author to me. This book was promising at first but halfway through, it didn't get me excited to read it anymore; I just wanted it to be over as soon as possible. What I loved here was the writing, that for sure was entertaining and kept me turning the pages. However the storyline, not so much. A few other things I loved were Danika Jenckell's (FMC) strength and self-respect; Bonnie's (FMC's Best Friend) kindness and generosity; Talia and Francis (MMC's Kids) being good and smart kids. What I hated though was Emil Van Der Berg (MMC) for being gullible, indecisive, and giving whiplash every now and then.

Most intimate scenes are fade to black. The side characters weren't outstanding for me so I don't think I'll read the other books in this series.

-MMC: Single Dad, 2Kids, Billionaire, Dead Wife
-FMC: On A Run/Flighty, Nanny
-Insta Lust
-Mistaken Identity
-Forced Proximity
-Surprise Pregnancy
-Trust and Commitment Issues

I was all set to give this book 4 stars, but the author wrote the stupidest "black" moment ever. The duality of a strong woman doing something so stupid I just can not reconcile with. A man says my wife betrayed me. I can't trust her. So the first thing you do while sitting on his lap is betray him.

Boss and nanny.

Let's be honest, there is an obvious cliché on boss and nanny stories, but I really liked this one. I love how the story developed. There times when I thought "oh this is so obvious", but no. Lilian Monroe gives us a good story with some twists that I was really not expecting. The only reason why for me this is not a 5 star review, is due to the fact that his perspective was a bit too feminine for me. Dani's view of him is perfect. He is what we all dream of. Perfect gentleman with a possesive streak. But when I read Emil's perspective, it is hard to belive a man is thinking that way. But who knows, maybe that's how it really is. I would say, give it a chance and tell me, is it just me?
