Natalie's fiance disappeared without a trace the day before their wedding. 5 years later, she is still struggling to come to terms with his disappearance. Then, Kage, a handsome mysterious and secretive stranger moves into town. They fall hard for each other, but Kage is not who he seems.

Natalie and Sloane's relationship made this book for me. Their banter and sarcasm was so funny and fun to read. They have such a strong tie to each other. Sloan was possibly my favourite character in the book. Sloan is there for Natalie no matter what and supports her through everything.

Natalie has been through the ringer over the last 5 years. She has definitely been dealing with some mental health issues due to David's disappearance. Before meeting Kage, she felt dead inside, unable to open herself up to another man. Kage lit something within her and she was able to feel something. Natalie is incredibly strong, witty, and honest. She is afraid of being hurt by Kage, but is able to open herself to the possibly of happiness with him.

I'm not sure how I feel about Kage. He didn't have much of a personality and felt kind of flat. He is definitely the alpha type and need to be in control.
He knew that what he was doing would eventually hurt Natalie, but still withheld the truth from her and was dishonest. He was able to justify his actions because he fell for her the second he saw her and couldn't go through with his orders. Though he worshiped Natalie, he was still very selfish and secretive.

I am not a fan of insta love, so that skewed my opinion. I wish there had been a bit more focus on the Mafia side of the story, it felt like it just faded into the background for majority of the book. I cannot wait to read Sloan's book.

Tropes: Mafia, alpha male, touch her and you die, open door, insta-loveish

My first mafia read, and I’m really not sure what to say about it. The writing style was great, and the drama wasn’t over the top, so I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author.

Great spice, the love connection between Kage and Natalie is surprising at first but beautiful nonetheless. The spice scenes are unreal, and incredibly detailed. Kage has an absolutely filthy mouth lol. The story itself is pretty interesting as well, and I like the way it progressed. I’m excited to see what the rest of the series brings!

Now, mafia romances are definitely hit or miss, especially when you're looking for a good plot amongst the smut but I fucking loved this book. Hands down best mafia romance I've read so far, and my first book from J.T. Geissinger.
A hefty dose of filthy smut *chefs kiss* and a mafia plot that was actually interesting! Natalie & Kage, my gods, their love story - couldn't help but 'awe', laugh, and even shed a tear at it. Nat & Sloan, bloody hilarious, adored their friendship.
It was maybe a tiny bit predictable, could guess what their HEA would be, but I did really appreciate the closure in the end for Nat
with David, the fucking bastard, argh
and enjoyed it nonetheless.
Not sure if this one will be everyone's cup of tea but I loved reading it (now off to read Sloan's story - fuck yes, our girl deserves her own love story).

This is definitely the weakest in the series so far for me but it is obviously needed to get the full picture for the later books. Kage and Nat are likeable enough but their romance was too insta-lovey for me personally. I found the plot to be kind of predictable which isn’t that big of a deal in these types of romances to me.
Overall a very fun and steamy read and a good entry point into this world!

I enjoyed this book. I did feel like the middle kind of dragged. I’m so excited to read Sloane's book next!

The beginning was fine but the last 30% was WILD. The story was a little predictable but the way everything unfolded in the end was sooo entertaining. Honestly I’d recommend just on the last 50% alone. I love a bit of drama.
The sex scenes were good and they had safewords. Tbh i dont think they were used enough but maybe I just prefer more consent in my stories (especially when they are doing things like bondage and spanking). Also it really felt like Kage pressured her into trying those things so don’t love that. Obviously she enjoyed it but what if she didn’t?? I dont love him making the assumption that she will. I  think I’m just over the alphahole male MC so if you’re into that then this will be right up your alley.
Overall, it was entertaining and enjoyable. It had the angst, the drama, and the spice.
