An amazing and moving fantasy stand-alone, but this is mainly about a young girl who feels so much and is so scared of hurting others that she locks herself away. And then she meets a prince who she doesn’t have to explain herself to because he understands and they both let each-other be true to who they are and I’m gonna cry again

I still find myself thinking about this book days after finishing it lol

Very nice story, kept me entertained for a good week.

This book proves itself to be a YA novel, especially chapter 19 where two characters seemingly out of nowhere decide they're in love with each other but the story lacks the necessary build up making the revelation, while expected, to feel completely rushed

I’ve been thinking about Graceling by Kristin Cashore for years! In this story, we follow Katsa, a fierce young woman with a rare “Grace” for fighting, as she begins to push back against the brutal power she’s been forced to serve. Her journey is packed with action, romance, and self-discovery, making it an exciting and surprising read. If you love strong heroines and immersive fantasy worlds, this book is a real treat!

well, this book wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible either.
i don’t get why people seem to hate Katsa but then again, i didn’t finish the book. she seemed like just a flat character. Graceling seems like most other YA fantasy books- ooo, look, there’s a girl with magic powers. wow, a super hot guy that’s the only one who stands a chance against fighting her. guess what? they fall in love! shocker! and also, wow, they need to save the day and-

wait, i don’t really know what was motivating any of the characters. oops.

the writing was pretty good for a debut novel, the plot was, like i said before, fairly unoriginal, and i knew the plot twist with the king was coming well before it was mentioned (that’s pretty much where i stopped, so i don’t know if there’s a different plot twist).

there’s not really anything WRONG with the book, per se, but i just have other books that i want to read a LOT more than i want to finish Graceling. i’m not one to just stop reading books, but this one didn’t grab my attention.
