The story was fine with some good twists, but the characters were a bit strange and not too likable. Also, the audiobook narrator wasn’t engaging, which probably impacted how much I enjoyed the book.

Very slow start and middle to this book, it did pick up in the last third and after putting it down constantly I found myself finishing it in almost one sitting. However I still feel like not a lot happened in this book and I’m not a fan of books focused entirely on setting. I also expected (maybe incorrectly) that there would be more magical realism in this. Finally….what is this trend recently with the last chapter/epilogue pregnancy!
