A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young was such a great book. Her writing is so lyrical and vivid, it immediately pulled me in.
I love a mystery with a touch of magical realism, and this one delivered. Add in a little romance and you’ve got a genre combo that totally works. The slow build of suspense had me hooked from the start, and I was really impressed by how well the author explored grief and the complex bond between James and her twin brother Johnny. It felt raw, real, and beautifully done.
Solid 4.5 stars from me and I’ll definitely be checking out more of Adrienne Young’s books!

I’ve really enjoyed Adrienne’s writing until this one. I just felt like she tried too hard to create this beautiful and poetic prose, it just got a little annoying and repetitive. Like it took me so long to get through this book & I honestly am DNFing at about 50%. I’m just… bored

This was very different from her other work but just as beautifully done. Also side note the audio narrator is amazing

Thank you for NetGalley for the e-arc of A Sea of Unspoken Things.
This took me forever to get into this book. I don’t know if I didn’t connect well to the characters or what. Once I was finally hooked I read it pretty quickly. Towards the end the pace picked up and it made you want to know who killed Jonny. I think James’ relationship with Micah could have been further developed as they were kind of slapped together in the end. Overall an okay book.
