I was excited when I started it and then quickly became uninterested but I still wanted to know how it ended.
Didn’t love the pacing or dialogue and I wasn’t invested in the characters’ conflicts
Elise in particular is not my favorite. I also didn’t really like the dialogue - it felt a little too juvenile despite the serious nature of the story (people are literally dying 💀)
The ending also felt like a device to simply extend the story into another book vs having a bigger/ overarching plot line that was mentioned throughout the book
(Maybe I missed the lead up or foreshadowing but it felt random)
I mainly listened to the audiobook and didn’t love it. It was difficult to keep track of pov changes but the narrator did a great job with the other characters

This was perfectly fine book. I know I wasn’t the target audience but after hearing all the incredible praise of this book I expected something a bit more world changing.

The FMC has chosen every wrong possible option during dire situations when it counts. Then double down and plays victim she is forever going to be in a victim mentality. The only reason why this book is not a four is only solely on the FMC. I feel bad for everyone that gets hurt because of her .
