This book is incredible. It’s been a while since something without a strong sense of romance has intrigued me and THIS SURE DID! I suck at summarizing without giving stuff away. But it is dark, intense, and had me constantly questioning what was going to happen. Even at the end of the book I’m at the edge of my seat and can’t wait to read more in book two. (Warning! There is a bit of spice, abusive elements, and (great) examples of PTSD.)

Ugh my heart

A Rain of Shadows and Endings is heartbreaking and beautiful. I love the way Melissa writes her stories. In probably every review, rating and description of this book, it'll say this book is dark and to check the trigger warnings. There's a reason for this! It's dark and I had to take my time with it.
It's also frustrating. Everytime you're like okay boys, let's turn this around, you're yelling at the book again.

Good start to the series but Theon needs to go! His abusive ways are just too much to be redeemable at this point for me, he’s definitely worse than Tamlin. Let’s hope there’s a Rhys on his way in book 2 …

DNF @ 20%

The MMC was so so bad. Why would I want to read about a man forcing a fae woman into slavery, constantly abusing her into submission, and expecting her to be in full glam/stilettos/ and heels????? I’m sorry maybe it gets better, but I’m not into romance that’s being forced by a bond that the FMC never had a choice in.

✨READ THIS BOOK✨
In fact, if you haven’t already, read everything Melissa Roehrich has published.

This book was AMAZING. I loved LOD, absolutely devoured it. This book??? I gulped it down like i’d never breathed. It made me feel. I cried (and i mean i fucking sobbed), I screamed, I got so angry I almost threw my phone. I love Tessa with my whole soul. I was a bit skeptical about it being a bit more modern with them having technology. However, that was completely forgotten about twenty pages in and i was not longer skeptical but fascinated. I am going to be in a book slump until the next one comes out but it was worth it. This author has made me feel her main characters with such intensity. I swear it’s healing parts of me and making me feel seen in a way i don’t think i’ll ever comprehend or forget. I cannot wait for the next book and to see Tessa become the badass bitch I know she is. and once again for the people in the back, READ. THIS. BOOK.
