I was not expecting that ending. I had multiple hunches, all of which were wrong.
The more time I have to think about the book, the lower my rating gets. The "who done it" aspect of the book had me, but everything else about the book... It felt like something was missing, or something could have been different. Eg. The way she talks about her sister.
I also found her contradicting herself at times, which was somewhat bothersome.
To avoid spoilers, I'll leave it at that.

Wow, this one is grim. I've read other novels about serial killers or teens who think they may turn into serial killers, but this one is more gruesome, and also less interesting. I just couldn't get into the head of a girl thinking she was a psychopath and having no emotions, since I know from other sources that it's very very rare (if at all?) to have a female serial killer. Yet this girl likes dogs and pets... I kind of liked the idea that she's out to defend the weak by killing criminals who haven't been caught, but if she's really so sociopathic, she wouldn't have those tender feelings at all. So that seemed very contradictory to me. And the ending is totally out of left field, never saw it coming and it didn't make sense to me either! Leave at least a few clues to let your readers possibly figure it out. Also, the level of sex seemed a bit much for a teen novel; I wondered if this was originally an adult manuscript. If you like serial killer books, go ahead and read this one, I dare you. It's sort of like a teen version of Dexter, I'm guessing (having not seen the show or read the books, just from what I know about it). For a better psychological drama on the subject try Barry Lyga's I Hunt Killers.
I have so many mixed feelings about this book. I liked, and it was hard to predict what would happen next, but on the other hand, I didn't like it.

thank GOD that i can rate this a 0 star on storygraph,, what this book DESERVES!!!
there are so many questions i still have about this book, so many questions left unanswered. now, typically that in and of itself wouldn't raise alarm for a bad rating, however these questions are due to PLOT HOLES not due to there being more to the story. i know there are a couple other books in this "universe/series" but to read those to see how S. E. Green covers up these plot holes would be a waste of time. there is only so much time in a person's life. i will NOT waste a second more on this horrendous works.
all in all, this felt like a very badly written wattpad fanfiction. the only difference?? there are no lovable characters that we know and love like there are in fanficiton. the characterization is flat in every regard, the writing is like a 10 year old wrote it after watching a true crime documentary, and i would say some parts are almost too much to stomach, but it's not because its not even descriptive. i mean hell, the twist ending on the last page happened in 4 sentences. not very descriptive at all.
and what the hell was that school scene between lane and zach?? hello? 911????
DON'T READ THIS BOOK. DEAR GOD DON'T READ THIS BOOK.

This book would have been a 3, but the ending surprised me and for that I gave it 3.5 stars. This book is a teenage female version of dexter. The majority of the book I was really close to Dexter. I would recommend this to those who have not seen Dexter or read the books. All in all though this book was okay.
this book was really weird and the ending was bizarre and I don't know how I felt about the whole thing
Fun and disturbing at the same time. I can't wait to see where the future takes this series!
