Reading about Patti Smith’s life and how she got to where she is now was so inspiring. Her writing is so vulnerable that it feels like she’s addressing you personally. I fell in love with her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe and their connection through art. This made me nostalgic for a time I wasn’t even alive for.

the 70s, music, and new york city. just kids took me some time to read. but it can’t be denied that patti smith is an incredible artist and her relationship with robert was beautiful and compelling. patti and robert were always there for one another, no matter the challenges or the distance between them.

Reading about her experiences and growth in the Arts and Music scene in New York was captivating.

The ending made me cry, and her poems and the photos included in the book are beautiful!

What a beautiful, honest, pure and sad book. It went beyond all my expectations, providing me with so much emotional and intellectual nourishment. I feel inspired and my heart aches. I want to read it again. I love Patti Smith.
