Jennifer Probst’s second book in her Twist of Fate series, So It Goes, is fun, witty, and amazingly beautiful. Two people who think they have nothing in common but business find themselves spending a lot of time together in hopes of getting their families to stop meddling in their love lives. Malia wants children and is tired of her lack-luster choices lately of men. So she has decided to take motherhood in her own hands. Palmer Matterson is a self-made man who loves being CEO of his own wedding planning company. Palmer is handsome, well fit, funny, smart but sometimes is not sure how to handle Malia. I really enjoyed this book. It has been quite a while since I read a Jennifer Probst book. It was nice to be reminded of how very talented she is at storytelling. Highly recommend book two in the Twist of Fate series, So It Goes.

I really enjoyed this book and the entire premise behind it.

The pull between Palmer & Malia is so strong yet Malia tries to fight it for so long.

I'm anxious to see what happens with Tessa!

Advertising Director Malia Evergreen and her two best friends started Quench, a magazine for women, together. After working one year with the impossible Palmer Matterson, Malia is excited to break the news that she will no longer be working with him. She will no longer oversee the advertising department of the magazine but is taking a step toward something she is passionate about the Quench Foundation. She has reached the age where she wants to find love and have a family, but she has yet to find her soulmate.
CEO Palmer Matterson owns the Endless Vows Bridal Agency and strives to give every bride their dream wedding. He was interested in Malia from the beginning, but he chose the wrong way to win her. Now he regrets his choice and just wants her to spend time getting to know him. Palmer has never felt the need for marriage or a family, but he can’t give up on his feelings for Malia. Can two people with different life goals find a way to have a future together?
It was hard watching Malia struggle against her feelings for Palmer. She loved him but could not give up her dreams of a family. I loved watching Palmer’s thoughts and struggles on marriage and children. He had never met anyone he felt like he would want to marry and have a family with. But the idea of Malia not being part of his life made him reconsider his future.
So, It Goes is the second book in the Twist of Fate series. It was well-written, entertaining, and easy to read. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There are two sides to Palmer Matterson. The hard nosed businessman who comes across as rude and condescending and the sweet family man who would do anything for his sisters. Unfortunately he has been showing Malia the wrong side. So when the two embark on a few fake dates to keep the meddling families at bay which side will he bring to the table? And will it be enough to keep Malia coming back for more and derailing her future plans? With an adorable storyline and characters the reader will want to hug this was a great read.

I’m starting to think that this series just isn’t for me.

I really liked that in this story it was Palmer who was open with his feelings, not only Malia. It’s nice to read about a man with courage to show his heart! Palmer is swoonworthy

Malia is looking for love, but told her fam that she already has found her person. In walks CEO Palmer. Fate thrusts them together and there's pure chemistry.

Read if you love: fake dating

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the book in the series that I was most interested in reading, but I am someone who needs to read a series in order so I did read the first one in the series prior. While I didn't care for the first book I was hopeful for this one, but ultimately it was not for me either. There were a few things that I did like about this book (fake dating is my favorite trope, I like a meddling family, and I did enjoy that Malia wanted to have a baby and was willing to do the things she needed to do to make that happen). I didn't really feel love between the MC, I could see that were they were attracted to each other, but not love at all. Palmer was okay, but not extortionary or memorable. Malia is a Black heroine, and I personally wish she wasn't for two reasons. The first is that the representation was basically non existent, and what was there was just bad and also because since reading this book and looking at reviews the most common thing is how much people don't like her because she is "stubborn, rude and unlikable". Now I can see where some of those things might be true BUT so is Chiara from the first book and that no one mentions that, and IMO that makes Malia come off as very 'angry Black woman" and I hate that. I say it all the time but all representation isn't good representation, and this was just not good. Just like all of the other books I've read by this author, there is also random comments about weight gain/ talks about being scared to be fat or looking fat. Maybe I am sensitive to it because I am a plus size reader, but it always just throws me off because it's literally out of nowhere. Anyway I will finish this series out because I am a series finisher, but ultimately I think my time with this author is done.

I have read quite a few books by Jennifer Probst and enjoyed them all. I enjoyed this one as well but not as much as her other books. While I enjoy a good fake dating trope this one fell a bit flat for me….Malia was a bit stubborn and playing hard to get just a tad bit too much, while poor Palmer was chasing her like crazy, I honestly didn’t think he would catch her. In the end they got their HEA but not quite sure if they were a perfect for each other.
