When a popular narrator is used for just reading an epilogue he shouldn't be given top billing because it is misleading to the reader and two it takes away from the credit that Maxine Mitchell should have been given.  This book should be raved about the snowboarding scenes were so realistic, the action ..you were feeling that adrenaline, feeling the cold and Maxine brought an experience that even someone who had never even been in snow could appreciate every minute. Chase Austin was Brooke Larsen's crush growing up, and no one in the world rode a board on snow like him, no one looked like he was invincible like him or rode a mountain like in Flight. Brooke wanted to catch the best still shot to win the Illumination awards the pinnacle of extreme sports photography and she tried to convince herself getting close to him was just for the photos. A tragic avalanche injures Brooke and gives Chase a horrible flashback of losing his sister when he had to clear snow from her mouth and get her to resume breathing.  Also his brand teammate had a horrible back injury and Chase disappeared as soon as they were brought in the hospital.
Chase's meltdown splits our couple in a third act breakup, but because this was written in away that allowed character development for Chase , this is forgiven although I really wished authors stopped using it .
Maxine did an exceptional job with both roles , heartbreaking at moments, and a roller-coaster of feelings of a book I won't forget. It is a shame this author hasn't written anything new I would be running to read.

When you write a sports book, you really have to go for it. And Ride showed that Harper Dallas really did go for it. Ride follows Chase, a playboy snowboarder taking huge risks by boarding but no risks in love, and Brooke, a passionate sports photographer looking for her big break. Everything about Ride was breathtaking. I could see the scenes play out, because Harper Dallas did an incredible job setting the scene. Chase was wonderfully dark and twisty,, and when it came time for his redemption arch, Harper turned him swoony and sincere. Brooe was the fun, independent female lead I crave, with bonus daddy issues I relate to. With some solid smut and a great supporting cast of characters, I would recommend this book, hands down.

This one came highly recommended from someone whose opinion on romance matters a lot to me (hiiii Lucia!) so I was very eager going into this one. It did NOT disappoint. It's one of the better NA/Contemporary Romance books I've read (is this one even considered NA?) - characters who are fleshed out and well written, a scenario that's interesting and not overly contrived. Surprisingly, it didn't even fall into any of the tropes I tend to be drawn to (fake dating, hate-to-love, a wedding) and yet it's still an absolute fave. Our main character was, for me, relatable beyond belief. Some things she thought/felt struck quite close to home. I liked the glimpse into Chase's POV at the very end, though it left me wanting a bit more. I would have loved this to have included both POVs, because he was an interesting love interest!, although I wouldn't change a thing. I do think it was effective to only have Brooke's, as it allowed me as the reader to feel her emotions very strongly because we knew only as much as SHE did. I was particularly fond of Dallas's writing style and the lyrical-yet-sexy nature of her smut scenes!
