The Dating Disaster

such a cute read. felix & marshall are complete opposites and start off on a bad foot with their first date. this is just the beginning of their long journey of miscommunication and assumptions about each other. Seems like most people have a problem with this book because of the miscommunication trope. Though a lot of these problems and assumptions in the book could have been solved with a quick conversation we have to realize that they are complete opposites.

felix is dating and hooking up with guys frequently, looking for validation through hook ups and not looking to settle down. while marshall is a virgin demisexual, he’s not able to fully understand hook up culture. this and the fact that they don’t know each other well leads to assumptions about each others lives.

i’m not a fan of miscommunication but this book provided enough pining as well as marshall being completely set of felix and that made up for it in my opinion. this was a cute quick read i really enjoyed.

Felix& Marshall

Felix is the son of Griff from Platonic Rulebook, and the book also has Talon & miller’s children in from Blindsighted.

Ok ok ok so I fell in love.

I fell in love with the Diva-est Twinkiest Twink

I didn’t mean to. I couldn’t help it.

And well… he has a boyfriend…

And that’s fine by me…

He’s the most cinnamon roll, puppydog, thoughtful rawrgh

And they are so adorable together..

But still, I love them.

Basically the book is a hella lot of miscommunication and a very cute diva twink who secretly loves being reigned in a bit by his sweet snuggly athlete.

You see some characters, they just *sigh*, they just kind of set themselves up in your brain like it’s their own special place.

So much miscommunication! But I still enjoyed it even though I normally really hate when people just can´t talk to each other.

Marshall and Felix were beautiful together. I enjoyed that things didn't go smoothly for them to begin with and that they never quite knew where they stood with the other whilst still desperately pining. It really helped watch them to grow and to develop in confidence in themselves and what they deserve and will allow themselves to have/want. I enjoyed their dynamic and how it took them time to actually get to know each other and develop real feelings. It wasn't a conventional start to a relationship or even a friendship but I enjoyed it and it worked out for the best for them. Some really sweet moments between them, as well as some awkward ones but generally a light-hearted and funny book.

Their friends played a good part in the story and helped to show different perspectives and moments that let us understand the characters more. Also I loved the epilogue, it felt very them and showed that they had grown up but were still very much themselves and hadn't completely changed their personalities while being together.

That story was just so cute !! I already knew Felix's personality from “Platonic Rulebook”, he has a big personality and is kind of explosive. Which is a big contrast with Marshall who is quite shy and wants to find someone to fall in love with…

The first date was clearly a disaster, when Felix discovers that Marshall is his new roommate, it doesn’t please him. He doesn’t want to face the man who basically rejected him and didn’t care at all. Marshall doesn’t know how to act around Felix, he was truly nervous during their dates and is disappointed to see Felix’s reactions to him. But Marshall has a big heart and he will do everything to ensure that Felix warms up to him
