The first time I read this book, I wasn't particularly keen to finish because I'm not a fan of miscommunication/misunderstanding tropes and Felix is HUGE on assumptions. But I gave this book another try after reading the rest of Franklin U, Saxon James' Master of Mayhem & Platonic Rulebook, plus Eden Finley's Can't Say Goodbye. Having glimpses of characters I did actually love through the eyes of the main characters helped me finish the book. They were cute and adorable together, but man, all that jumping to conclusions made me wince so hard.

Marshall & Felix

I've been waiting for Marshall's story ever since I caught a glimpse of him in [book:Frat Wars: Master of Mayhem|59541711].  Robbie Harrows I think will always be my #1, but his quieter brother yes please.

Felix is a firecracker!  Everyone thinks he's got oodles of confidence to spare when in reality he's insecure and looking for his person.  He'll admit to one but not other.

Marshall is awkward and trying to find his own place.  He doesn't truly fit with his family.  He's the introvert in a family full of loud extroverts who find peopling easy and he just isn't like them.

This is the story of how they might just find what they've needed in the most unlikely of places.  Can Marshall convince Fe he's more than just his body and can Fe convince Marshall he's the right person for him?

I loved them so much.  It wasn't instant love for me like it was with Robbie but their relationship was beautifully mismatched and perfected and grew throughout.  It wasn't easy and they worked hard to see beyond what was right in front of their faces.

Felix’s attitude on the MCs’ failed first date bothered me. He states up front that he likes to sleep around, then is upset when Marshall doesn’t respond positively to it. There’s nothing wrong with sleeping around, and I’m all for sex positivity, but you can’t be upset if a potential partner that doesn’t sleep around wants someone with the same attitude towards sex as them. Then Marshall turns him down for a one night stand, and Felix gets upset about that, chalking Marshall up to someone who either thinks he’s too good for a quickie or a closet case. As if people aren’t allowed to be uncomfortable with the idea of casual sex. No one is an asshole just because they reject you, and Felix doesn’t get that. He holds a major grudge against Marshall. It’s typical “nice guy” behavior - where they act like you owe them sex then get mean when you don’t give it to them.
