Charlie and Jake spent a wonderful summer together twelve years ago, and then went their separate ways. Flash forward, Charlie is a single mom with an incredibly toxic ex and Jake is a single hockey player that worships the ground she walks on. Charlie and Jake have earned their HEA, and seeing main characters in their 30s gives those of us out here who haven't found their person yet hope.

ARC Review
Charlie and Jake meet at a summer camp. He’s late and tries his charm on Charlie but she’s not buying it. As the summer goes on, they become good friends. They both have feelings for each other but decide not to act on it. Charlie lives in New Zealand and Jake is entering the NHL draft.
Twelve years pass by and Charlie is back in Colorado. She has two children and a toxic ex-husband. All she wants to do is get her life together and make sure her children are happy and comfortable. A fresh start and zero interest in dating, thanks to her ex-husband tearing down any self confidence she had. What she didn’t expect was to see her summer camp best friend/crush at a hockey game her friend, Zoe, took her to.
Jake chased and achieved his dreams of becoming a hockey player in the NHL. When an incident in the stands catches his attention, he’s surprised to see that the woman he let get away is right there. Taking this as a sign - his second chance, he is will to do anything to make Charlie his.
Things aren’t as easy as he hoped though. She has built up these walls because of her previous relationship and will not bring someone into her children’s lives that won’t stick around. Jake tries to prove that he is all in and that he’s not going anywhere. But just as they are finally happy, Charlie’s ex-husband shows up at her door and is threatening to take the kids if she doesn’t go back to New Zealand with him. Jake let Charlie go once but he won’t let her get away this time. He’s going to fight for the people he loves.
Seal the Deal is heartwarming, second chance romance. I loved that we got to see Jake and Charlie in the past and the present. They both left the summer camp in hopes of achieving their dreams and for the most part they did. I was glad that they found each other again after so many years. I felt so bad for what Charlie and her kids went through with her ex-husband. No child should feel as if their parent doesn’t love them. But Charlie was a strong FMC and she did everything to make sure her kids were happy. I was also happy that Charlie had the support of her best friend Zoe. Overall, I enjoyed their story and can’t wait for Zoe’s story!
Thank you Luna Literary Management and Hailey Rodger for the ARC!
