Wow! This was my first Julia Kent book and what a way to start!

Feisty is such an amazing book, because it is fun and hilarious and you find yourself smiling at parts, but it is also a story of discovering new parts of yourself and learning and accepting how they make up who you are.

Feisty starts in the most dramatic and intense way, it really kicks off with a bang. I was pulled right in from the start and hooked into knowing how Fiona and Chris's story played out. I have never read a book that started in such a way, it was shocking!

Fiona, or Feisty which she was given to her by a boy in the seventh grade, has tried hard to erase her past self. After leaving for college, she changed her image and frame of mind completely choosing to think positively and start meditating. However, this book is proof that you can never really escape you past and fate has a way of stepping in to make sure you find what you need for your future too.

Chris 'Fletch' Fletcher has grown up since he gave that awful nickname to Fiona, and is now a paramedic and owns his own boxing gym. He wants to get to know Fiona, having always had a soft spot for her since school and to apologise for what he said in the seventh grade. But Fiona has always steered clear, putting him into a certain mould and thinking he's the same guy he was growing up. However, when fate steps in and they are thrown back into each others lives, popping up in the same places time and time again, will Fiona fight what is starting between them or allow herself to open up and accept how a part of herself she wants to leave behind is very much a part of her now? Will one traumatic event allow Fletch to be able to prove how he's always felt about her and finally allow her to let him in?

Fiona was so different to most heroines and I loved that about her. She was so refreshing and sweet, I think more heroines should be like her. Fletch was an absolute sweetheart, I think his message about what giving her that name taught him is such an important one. I loved how slow burn this book was, Fletch only moving at a pace Fiona was happy with, not pushing her but not giving up on her, was so unlike most romance novels, where usually the alpha male pushes the heroine into being with him. That's not to say that Fletch wasn't possessive or alpha when they got together, he just allowed Fiona to come to him, when she was ready which was amazing!

I haven't read Fluffy or Perky but now I will. Feisty has 100% made me fall in love with every single character and I need to know their stories now. Mallory, Perky, Will and Parker made such great side characters, they brought the whole book together and really made everything seem so real. I love series about friendship groups as it's not just a story about the couple but also about the friendships too.

My favourite part of the whole book was when they visited the cabin. No spoilers but the whole scene absolutely killed me, I laughed hard. I find if an author can make you smile at sweet moments, laugh at hilarious situations and make your heart ache when something upsetting happens, they're an amazing writer and Julia Kent did all those things.

This is an amazing read and I would recommend to anyone, I read it in one go, it's that good!

The third story in the Do-Over series follows Fiona (aka Feisty). After a stressful day at work, Fiona goes on her first-ever blind date which ends up being with Chris (aka Fletch), the boy she drop-kicked in seventh grade and who is the cause of her nickname. This story follows the perspective of the heroine and is my favourite of the Do-Over books. The classic humour that you find in the other stories is in this one as well but there is also a serious aspect which may cause a trigger with the mention of a gun at a preschool. Julia Kent has done a good job with this series in showcasing how your life can change when you are in the spotlight. The good thing with this book is that the hero, Fletch is more of a focus in this story. Erin Mallon did another great job narrating.

Fiona & Chris’ story was cute but just eh.

Fionas self talk confused me so no wonder it took her so long to realize that she was attracted to Chris & that he was a fantastic guy.

Except for the very beginning, there was no major twist to the story just the h finally getting her head out of her ass and growing up

Do-Over Book Three.

Fiona “Feisty” Gaskill has been defined by a single moment in her childhood for her whole life. Even after high school, Fiona was so determined NOT to be Feisty that her life was still dictated by that word. Now, Chris “Fletch” Fletcher is back and they keep running into each other as if fate has decided they must meet again. When Fiona's class is invaded by a dangerous dad, she is forever immortalized again as Feisty Fighter - the teacher who saved her class by kicking the dad. Fiona and Fletch finally agree to see each other and they realize that their chemistry might just be worth the trouble.

If you've been waiting for Feisty, the story does not disappoint.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I was pretty bummed about this series after the last installment. Perky was not a good fit for me, but I still held out hope for the series, and this book really pulled it out! It was laugh out loud funny!

Fiona was an awesome heroine! I loved her kick-ass nature, as much as I loved her New Age-y nature! I liked seeing the conflict that she went through to reconcile those parts of her nature, it really enriched the story for me! Fletch was a bit on the repentant side which I enjoyed seeing. I loved reading his explanation of what happened when he came home with the shiner!

My only complaint about this book was the waffling that Fiona did about getting together with Fletch. It seemed like a lot of unnecessary angst and indecision on her part, when she's normally so take charge and strong. I get that she hated the nickname he saddled her with, but that's not a good excuse for the back and forth she did. Thankfully, it didn't drag the book down for me overmuch, so it was still an awesome read!

I have been waiting for Feisty and Fletch's story since Fluffy last year and this certainty lived up to everything I was hoping for.
The thing that is a little different with this story then some of Julia's others is that while yes it is a love story and you're gonna get your HEA for this couple in the end. The story , the arc of it all is more so about Feisty finding herself and letting herself be herself. Letting herself stop hiding from one side of herself and learning to embrace all of herself. She can't truly let anyone else in until she does. Kent does a wonderful job of walking Feisty and us through this maze of emotions, ups and downs and still giving you all the signature funny moments you expect from a Julia Kent book.

I just love this world that she has created and these characters. I am glad to know there is at least one more story coming and can't wait for that!
Do yourself a favor and read Feisty when it comes out later this month. And go now and read Mallory and Perky's stories while you wait!

This book was so sweet! If you read the previous books, then you know how much Fiona hated Fletcher for giving her the nickname Fiesty but I loved hearing Fletchers side of the story and his feelings over the years. I loved Fiona's mental struggle of finding herself and especially seeing her merge her previous self with the person she wants to become. It was motivating and a great way to look at tragedy! I loved Fiona and Fletcher together throughout the book and how he knows her so well and knows what she needs even though they havent been the closest over the years. Also, seeing Mallory and Perky's relationships grow and get stronger was amazing!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job. I couldn't wait to start this story after how Perky ended. I enjoyed both H/h and their story which was a mix of serious issues and some lighter fun scenes. I also enjoyed the secondary characters.
