The reveal of what Roc and Vane are was actually very fun. I didn't see it coming but in hindsight, the clues were there so it doesn't feel like a cheap twist.

Ive found the books in this universe have gotten more plot heavy and less spicy as the series has gone on. I will actually note this as a positive. I think the market has been a little oversaturated on that front for a while now and while I enjoy some spice, I prefer for it to add to the plot rather than being the plot. I like the direction these books have gone in and I'll definitely be sticking around to see where else this story goes.

Also... Asha. Bad bitch. I love her and I'm really hoping we get more of her and her back story in future books.

I loved this. It was a great depiction of emotions in a poly relationship, it was waaay more plot heavy than any of the other books thus far and it was action packed with amazing character development and vulnerability. It was truly the best executed spinoff I’ve ever seen, just continues the story in the best, most seamless way possible.
She starts to hint at other worlds that could come into the play and I think there may be a prequel for Roc and Vane out somewhere??? Waiting patiently for the next release date to be announced…

Devour the Dark continues Wendy, Hook, and Roc’s dark, tangled love story as they race across Neverland to save Roc after he devours something forbidden. Now fully bound together, the three face new dangers, old grudges, and even Roc’s brother Vane in their desperate quest. Nikki St. Crowe blends brutal romance with fantasy adventure, creating a world where love is obsessive, monstrous, and all-consuming. The dynamic between Wendy, Hook, and Roc deepens in ways that are feral, messy, and tender beneath all the sharp edges. As they fight for their future, a glimpse of Wonderland teases what might be next, promising even more twisted magic. Perfect for readers who love villainous heroes, corrupted fairytales, and throuples that bleed and burn together.

“There is only one way to burn, and that’s beneath his attention.”

I was not expecting to have as much fun as I did with this story. I had such a good time connecting all the dots of Roc's identity. I just kept sending messages to my besties screaming with all my theories, and when all of them were confirmed, I screamed even louder.

Aside from that, I really loved seeing Roc's growth. How he learned to accept the love that was given to him and the love that he felt towards Wendy and Hook.

I also loved finally getting to see Vane's pov, and getting to be inside Asha's head was educational, to say the least. I really hope that we get to see more of her story in the future.

Speaking of Vane and Asha, Roxelana Waters and Corvin King were a great addition to the cast of this series. Once again, the narrators absolutely nailed it.

With all that being said, I gotta say that Firecraker definitely stole the show.

Quote: “I guess if I did want to share two men, they are the perfect balance. One hard, one soft. One gentle, one dangerous. I do want them both. More than I realized. If forced to pick between the two, I would refuse. I’d heave myself into the ocean. To choose between them would be like picking between the sun or the moon.”
