Devour The Dark

Nikki St. Crowe

3.9 AVERAGE

This was good and fast-paced. I enjoyed Nikki’s writing and was entertained by it. But this was more plot than romance. Though the plot was interesting, it wrapped up too quickly. The real letdown was the romance, or simply the lack of time with our main couple. I wanted to see more of them, their perspectives, and time together. Overall, for being the sequel, I wish it had given us more and would have been longer.

Another solid book from Nikki! I always look forward to her stories and where she will take them. I went in having no idea how this book would unfold, but when some details dropped, so did my jaw! Nikki is so creative and I loved that she is weaving different lores into Roc, Hook, and Wendy’s story. Honestly I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil it, but just know I’m here for you as you read! The narrators were phenomenal and I literally couldn’t stop listening. This series is going to be so interesting moving forward and I am invested!

Devour the Dark by Nikki St. Crowe

What its About: Roc has devoured a Witch who is attempting to control him. Now he can't control the shift. If he doesn't get the Hat from Darkland he may shift and not be able to shift back.

My Thoughts: ❤️❤️❤️❤️. This book really showed a softer side to Roc despite his efforts to not become attached. The author gave us some information while still dangling the carrot in front of us to keep us hooked for the next book. The ending seemed a little too easy though with the Hat and I was kind of waiting for something else to happen when it never did which is why it only ended up being a 4 star read. If you haven't read this series and you enjoy Peter Pan, Dark Romance and lots of spice, run to get started.

Spice rating: 🌶🌶🌶. The scenes this author writes never disappoint. Roc super dark and definitely morally Grey so any spice he is involved in is always next level. I love Wendy, Roc and Captain Hook.

Next in Series: Dark and Darker Still release TBA

I’ve been waiting for this one ever since I read the last infuriating cliffhanger, and the wait was more than worth it.
I loooved seeing Roc, Hook and Wendy all come into their own and together. They are adorable and I have just a tiny crush on Roc myself.
I’m also obsessed about all the fairytales coming together and the entire subplot going on in the background, it just keeps me begging for more.
