This book was very interesting to me, this book was about a place that kids go after they die its kind of like a kid heaven it also has its very own devil, which who winded up being someone that you might think it could be. this wasn't the best book I've ever read, I was going to give it a 3 but I liked it a little more than just a 3. this book has friendship, some adventurer not very much, I was a little bored throw out the whole thing but I still read it.

3.5 stars - As long as you don't try to take this story as doctrine about what the afterlife is like, it's a fun "ghost story." I liked how several of the characters weren't completely "good" or "bad".

Definitely original, but I never really emotionally connected to the characters, with the possible exception of The McGill.

Everlost, the first in the Skinjacker Trilogy, was a stunning and exciting book from beginning to end. The way Shusterman created the Everlost world and interwoven it into something so unique and heartfelt had me on my toes as I was reading it. The lore of Everlost is so vast and unexplored, which perfectly encapsulates the need/desire to explore the unknown.

The characters are the backbone of this series and they are just so colorful and unique. The relationships and parallels that they build with each other is so *oomf* good that I was marking any touching, funny, and significant interactions they had with each other. Even the villians were filled with so much depth that I instantly fell for them. I thought I wouldn't be hyped about the main pairings in the book, but I am. Nick/Mary and Allie/McGill just have such good chemistry that I find myself rooting for them. Of course, it's not just romance that involves them, but so many complex emotions about the afterlife and what it means to move on despite the fear of the unknown.

Beautiful book, beautiful characters, and I'm definitely going to cry as I go through the rest of the series.

5/5 A+

I like the idea of a place thats between death. Its like where ya go when your not ready to go. Its good because it doesn'y say anything about where they end up and they are like ghosts. Afterlights, Everlost, Skinjackers. Afterlights are the people in Everlost that glow alittle and skinjackers are afterlights that can get into a humans mind and body. Its good. The second one is Everwild.[b:Everwild|6390465|Everwild (Skinjacker, #2)|Neal Shusterman|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1275632440s/6390465.jpg|7134311]
