What a pleasant, interesting, enthralling page-turner of a book. This novel never drug on and on, threw in twists that I did not predict, and ended in a way that left me happy, sad, thinking, and wanting more.
I love the personality and background that Shusterman gives each character. I felt myself relating to each child and wondering exactly what I would do in each of their situations.
This book has very vivid detail without overloading and I cannot get over the amazing concept of the world of Everlost. I'm starting Everwild immediately; I need more of this story!

From what I remember, this is a super creative and fun series aimed at a younger teen audience. I really enjoyed the concepts and characters when I first read it, but as an adult, the writing just doesn’t appeal to me. I’ll be passing along my copies in hopes that someone else will love it as much as I once did.
I loved this book! This series is really underrated! If you are looking for a book to binge read look no further.
This is a wonderful middle grade ghost story about two kids who die in a car accident and end up in a sort of limbo world called Everlost, a world full of lost children, monsters, and special locations that were once part of the real world but have since been destroyed.
The characters in this story were so fleshed out and fun to follow! I also loved the McGill. All of the children are trying to figure out why they didn't make it to the after life while navigating the the rules and hierarchies of Everlost.
There are lots of interesting character dynamics that I think will be explored even more in the rest of the series! Can't where to see where it goes!

I think I liked it enough to read the next one. But I think it's definitely aimed at a younger age group. Middle/high school. It was pretty good though.
Nick and Allie die in a tragic accident. Instead of getting to where they are going, they wake in Everlost, a place between life and death. For a reason that is never explained, there is no one over the age of 17 in Everlost. They gradually learn the rules of Everlost (like the risk of standing in one place too long and the mysterious McGill).
Joined by another lost soul, these two Greensouls must find a way to navigate the dangers of Everlost. Will they ever get to where they are going, or will they be trapped forever in this half life where it is dangerous to stand in one place for too long?
Creepy and imaginative.

Amazing...really thought-provoking, especially for a YA book! I will be reading more from this author!
This is a re-read for me, but it holds up. The world building is just complex enough to be fascinating without being overwhelming. creative and endearing.
