I got this as a free ebook one day. I don't usually have high hopes for free books, especially knowing I'll have to pay for the others in the series. I was very wrong! I don't mind books that end in cliff hangers, because I know I'll get more from the characters I loved in the next one.
Give me some slow burn, mysteriously sexy alfa male main character, nerdy loveable female character, with a touch of kink and im a happy girl.
The plot was a little standard for a mafia guy, but it does lend well to a series and I already bought the next one.

What a story, Claire throws herself out of her comfort zone and posts an add for a spicy encounter, little does she know what kind of response she will get. I greatly enjoyed the twists and turns of this story, run don’t walk to pick up (or download) this book when it is released March 1, 2022.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The start was a bit slow and I was a bit confused. Claire was relatable, realistic, and witty. Mason is mysterious, alluring, dark, dangerous, and possessive. There were a lot of different things going on and that had me curious to see how things would play out. The chemistry between Claire and Mason was explosive and this was a really quick read. The book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and I’m excited to continue with The Devil’s Table.

Nearly got second-hand embarrassment from everything the female lead did, but we move on.
I liked the mystery and the lil plot twist at the end was quite a surprise; I also liked the steamy scenes and I have a feeling it’ll be better in the upcoming books. Wishing that the couple had more scenes than steamy scenes to show their relationship.

J'ai lu ce livre pour reposer un peu mon cerveau de Throne of Glass. En effet, j'ai le cerveau brisé tellement les livres sont complexes. Donc une petite pause d'un roman m'a permis de reset mon cerveau pour la suite.
J'ai bien aimé ce livre. C'était quand même simple mais par contre c'était très efficace. J'ai beaucoup aimé la romance et le mystère. J'ai aimé la relation entre les personnages. Et aussi de voir les événements bizarres qui se passent autour de la protagoniste.
Le smut était bien. Par contre je préférais le build up et la tension que les scènes explicites.
Je recommande ce livre pour des personnes qui veulent lire un livre de romance avec du mystère et un peu thriller.
