I love Fannie Flagg books! This is a sweet little novel that made me smile much of the time that I was reading. Made me want to live in this small town and feel that sense of community. If you are in the mood for a quick and light read, this would be a great one to pick up.
I love Fannie Flagg. And this is just the best book!!! Everyone should read it!!
A heartwarming Christmas story. I loved the quirky and endearing characters. Lost River, Alabama would be a great little town to visit. Cardinals are the favorite bird of our family (it may have something to do with us being St. Louis Cardinals fan) and I loved Jack the Redbird.
This was my first Fannie Flagg novel, but it won't be my last. I have all her books and I always loved the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes". She was also a frequent panelist on the old "Match Game" and very funny. This story had funny moments and some serious ones too. As most Christmas stories go, everything seems to work out and everyone is happy, as it should be. I couldn't help but laugh at some of the reviews for this book. You are reading a Christmas story! Wouldn't you expect sappy, everything works out and miracles happen kind of story? I personally like reading these type of stories leading up to the holidays. I think we all need a break from "reality" and should enjoy some stories of kindness, sharing and love!

Przyjemna historia, idealna na (przed)świąteczny czas. Nie można czytać samych wybitnych dzieł najwyższej klasy, przynamniej ja nie jestem w stanie. ;)
This one wasn't quite as deep as I expected it to be, but it is a nice little feel-good read. It was a book club selection for us, and it had a good discussion. This is a quick read.
Sweet short read with actually fleshed out characters which is rare in a Christmas novel like it.
Cute little Christmas book. Not much substance, but definitely a warm, fuzzy little gem.
