I'm really struggling with my review for this book. Don't get me wrong, it was interesting. Pen-pals falling for each other...great. I feel like the book lacked a lot of chemistry. Griffin and Luca (Luca is a female), fall for each other over years of pen-palling, except they never meet until they are 25 years old. Although they know each other, I feel like this is where the story gets rushed. They don't really take the time to get to know each other in person. Just because people are one way on paper, doesn't mean the same irl. I always love a good happy ending, but I was hoping for more.

The story is solid. I love how the author brought up mental illness topics.

Griffin and Luca exchanged letters during their childhood, but Luca stopped replying to his letters after a horrible incident. They once again exchanged letters and rekindled their relationship — without them knowing each others’ identities.

I wouldn’t say that the romance is instalove, because they did have feelings for each other before they rekindled their relationship. The letter, however, is a little bit cringey for adults. I know that they were childhood friends. But asking for an orgasm just after rekindling their relationship…

I couldn't finish it. The dude wasn't alpha, he was just abusive.

This is a beautiful book and one that’s been on my TBR for a long time. I’m such a sucker for the pen pal/falling in love through letters trope. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I had, but it’s an addictive love story. I enjoyed the depiction of mental health struggles, as someone whose day job is a therapist. Griffin really stole my heart. His emotions, the angst between them, ugh! He’s such a sweetheart and made this entire book. He’s patient with her, and just..I can’t put into words how lovely this relationship was. Good, quick read!

Favourite Quote:“In case I wasn’t clear, love is enough for me, Luca. But you have to let me love you.”

so many emotions with this book... i love the plot, i love the relationship, the odd friendship between luca and her therapist, the letters, luca’s strength and her fight and the way everything in that story made sense. i LOVE books which start with letters. i love to read about pen pals meeting

i wasn’t going to stick to it at first because something the MC wrote in a letter towards the beginning was pretty disgusting to me : calling women easy because they sleep with him, implying they weren’t respecting themselves and that he after all was simply a man accepting them all and a few other bullshit sentences -it took a whole page- i didn’t want to read about such a man. in the grand scheme of things it’s only ONE page and one small event, it still remains pretty awful to me that two women came up with this. a woman should dispose of her body the way she chooses and it IS important to point out and not perpetuate this line of thinking.
